The 2026 USPCA Region 26 March Street Seminar has officially come to a close after an incredible week of training, dedication, and teamwork.

This year, 45 K-9 teams completed the seminar, representing agencies from across Mississippi and several other states. Of those teams, 29 were new to USPCA, and we are extremely proud to report an exceptional accomplishment — 100% successful certifications in Narcotics, Accelerant Detection, and Explosives.

Achievements like this do not happen by chance. They are the result of long hours of training, commitment to excellence, and the unwavering bond between handler and K-9. Throughout the week, these teams pushed themselves to become better, sharper, and more prepared to serve their communities.

The atmosphere throughout the seminar was one of motivation, professionalism, and brotherhood. Handlers and instructors worked side by side, sharing knowledge, experience, and a common goal — to raise the standard for K-9 teams in our region. When that level of dedication comes together, the results speak for themselves.

Region 26 could not be more proud of every handler and K-9 team that attended and gave their best throughout the week. The work these teams put in ensures that our communities continue to be protected by some of the best trained K-9 teams in the country.

Participating agencies included:

Jackson County Sheriff’s Office
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office
Madison Police Department
Brandon Police Department
Byram Police Department
Capitol Police Department
Columbus Police Department
Mississippi Highway Patrol
Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics
Richland Police Department
Ridgeland Police Department
Winona Police Department
UMMC Police Department
Arkoma, Oklahoma Police Department
Gluckstadt Police Department
Marion County Sheriff’s Office
Madison County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office
Rankin County Sheriff’s Office
Texarkana, Texas Police Department
Grenada Police Department
Jackson County Fire Services
Pascagoula Police Department
Gautier Police Department
Smith County Sheriff’s Office
Miss Dept of Public Safety CTED

The future of Region 26 K-9 teams is incredibly strong, and this week proved that the next generation of handlers and K-9 partners are ready to carry the mission forward.

🐾 Region 26 is proud of every one of you. 🐾
