I received Icarus’s OFA certifications back for his DNA testing! Wooohoo- another step closer to having a gorgeous stud dog. 😍 His OFA hip/elbow/patellas and CAER testing is scheduled for November! Before anyone chooses to shame me for breeding, ask. 🥰

I’m opting to health test the dog I already know comes from proven and health tested parents and pedigree as an additional level of security for my future puppy’s owners, and of course the puppies my dog produces. Why would I ever want to bring a dog into this world who carries a genetic fault if I can prevent it? My goal is to produce sturdy, healthy Border Collies of sound mind who will likely succeed in service work or sport, and are just as happy on the couch snuggling as they are on the disc field or in crowded public venues. ❤️ while he may not (yet) have a sporting title, he’s proven himself in many other ways.

Today we remember the brave Search and Rescue dogs who tirelessly searched the grounds of the twin towers, looking for survivors and human remains. They have now all since passed, but may they, and all first responders past, present, and future, live on in our hearts for all time.

Today we remember September 11, 2001 — a day that changed our nation forever. We honor the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the sacrifices made that day and every day since.

At Thin Line Service Dogs, we carry this remembrance forward through our dogs who are proudly named in honor of the fallen heroes of 9/11. Their names and service remind us daily of courage, resilience, and hope.
