We are the only dog obedience organization in Richmond area granted a license by the American Kennel Club to hold obedience trials. Founded in 1959, the club has an excellent national reputation for outstanding trainin

g. Our program offers positive, humane techniques and discourages harsh methods. Many of our club members have won awards in local, national, and international competitions. We welcome our trainees to join our club. Besides offering classes, we perform obedience demonstrations for community groups, nursing homes, and schools. Other club activities include: tattoo clinics, agility trials, obedience trials, rally trials, seminars and Canine Good Citizenship Tests. Our meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month, and we welcome visitors.

Mark your calendar! RDOC will be holding a Pet First Aid and CPR seminar, February 21, 2026, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. This will be a hands-on certification class with each student receiving a pocket First Aid Guide. Mark your calendars for registration opening at 9 a.m., 20 participants, on January 3, 2026. Members $100, Non-members $125. This seminar will also give 7 hrs. of C.E.U. credits for ACOs.

This is a fun dog sport where the Judge hides the rat in a box, you know where the rat is and the JUDGE makes the call! Have you been wondering what NASDA is all about? Are you hearing other people talk and you don't get!? Here's your opportunity to come check it out . . .

Visit our website: rdoc.org, scroll down to Events under Registration and register to attend a half day seminar on either Saturday, September 6 (noon-4 p.m.) or Sunday, September 7 (9 a.m.-1 p.m.) at RDOC with Aleta Channell, owner of Bear Creek K9 Sports.

Aleta with do rat introductions, Trailing and Locating, Lost Item*, Urban Locating, and Shed Dog. Aleta will discuss the NASDA Games – Distance, You Make the Call, Elusive Rats, Got Rat, Silence, and Roll of the Dice.

*please bring a cloth or leather wallet, pair of gloves, pair of socks, keys (up to three on key ring). Make sure these are scented with YOUR scent. Put all the items in a Gallon baggie with your name on it.

Aleta Channell Cumberland, VA (Central, VA) - Is checking to see if there is enough interest for an Intro to Barn Hunt Clinic on any of the following 2025 dates: Sunday, July 27th; Saturday, August 9th; Saturday, August 16th; Saturday, August 30th. If so, please comment below or message her which date works best for you, as there will be a minimum # of working teams required to hold. If you know anyone interested that have never done BH, please feel free to share!

RDOC will have this adorable Blanket by Boo up for grabs tomorrow. The owner graciously donated the blanket to the club to raffle off. Tickets will be $5 each, and you do not have to be present to win. We will draw the winning ticket at noon.

RDOC will be holding Urban Locating and Lost Item run thrus Friday, March 14, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at our FCAT at Hanover-Cold Harbor Ruritan Park. Introduction to the rat and $5 per run thru. If you want to try Lost Item, please bring a glove, sock, key, or wallet that has your scent. You do not have to be registered for the FCAT to participate. Your dog will love it! 🐀
