Did you know, the Strutt With Your Mutt 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run is happening soon on May 4th at The English Country Barn of the Carolina's!

100% of the proceeds benefits Adoption First Animal Rescue! We know you love animals and we would love to have you and your family, four legs or two, join us! Every step you take helps find loving homes for animals in need.

The course starts at the wedding barn and runs around the beautiful trails!

This is fun for the whole family! We have free face painting, free caricatures. Plus, exciting activities: Raffles, prizes, food trucks, a dog costume contest, and vendor booths await!

Why does your veterinarian recommend heartworm testing yearly if your pet is on a consistent prevention program?

Because, as effective as most preventatives are, nothing is perfect. A good comparison is birth control, nothing is 100% effective. Dogs spit out or vomit pills, pets rub off topicals, life happens and you are a week late giving the prevention.

Yearly testing is recommended, even in pets on a regular heartworm preventative program to ensure the efficacy of their prevention program. Also, most drug companies will pay for a large portion of treatment if we can document product failure and show your pet has been on consistent prevention with annual testing!
