Gabriel Rangel - A Twist Of Fate Leads To A Historic Career

It’s often said that success breeds cynicism in this sport. After an individual reaches some imaginary threshold of big winning they cease to appreciate the beauty of the moment. Gabriel Rangel decisively disproves that idea. His amazement and appreciation of the experience can be dated to the story of his introduction to real-time big winning.

Just to lay the groundwork, Gabriel arrived here from Mexico just hoping for a chance to break into in this sport. At this point, he ranks among the VERY few professional handlers with three Westminster Bests to his credit.

The first one came in 2010 with Sadie, Ch. Roundtown Mercedes of Maryscot, under Elliott Weiss, who ranks among the greatest dog people this sport has ever seen. There was a time in history when Scotties absolutely dominated Westminster. They’ve won it eight times–Bardene Bingo, Braeburn’s Close Encounter and so many other iconic dogs that have truly left their mark on the breed and the sport.
