This is the 1st I've heard of this... I wonder if our local Starbies and other coffee shops offer this... would love to get some for my garden, compost, and chicken coops. Anybody have any experience with getting spent grounds from local coffee shops???

Gardeners are being encouraged to call on the help of their local Starbucks store and pick up the stores’ used coffee grounds to help boost crops growth.

Its been a hell of a few days totally redoing my original chicken coop (since the cat issue I cannot free range anymore) from goose exploration hut to new breese breeder pen. It ain't pretty but its functional 🤪 Trying to decide if I want to fence in the bottom (under the coop) and make a trap door to give them a bit more room or leave it as is.... time will tell.

Late post because I have had a lot going on the past few months from back issues to spring springing to helping my daughter move out and about to be in to her new home, had to say goodbye to my best old girl Addie, my 15 year old Bassett Hound, babysitting my grand pup. However, I did have 98% of my garden planted before Easter for once in my life... even had a few mishaps as seen in these pictures that I didn't lose all my s**t over.... 🤦🏽‍♀️😂🤦🏽‍♀️ Still need to prep my sweet potato bed and get some more seeds in the ground and finish repotting flowers that were neglected over the winter....

Spring is springing
🤞praying all 4 are girls will be doing DNA to confirm soon, 1 suspected possible male but praying its not. With solid white sebastopols, females are born with a dark gray saddles, males have a very light saddle if one at all. They cannot have any color carry genetics for this sexing method to be possible.

Lots of changes coming soon... spring cleaning, rearranging, new pens, new breeds, gardens, trapping and hauling off stray cats, you know same routine but with new seriousness

FYI a "bantam" is not a breed. "Bantam" refers to size, smaller than standard... anywhere from 1/4-1/2 the size of a standard breed. There are many breeds available in bantam sizes: silkies, cochin, serama, d'uccle, game birds, sebrights, etc. This is one of the things that grind my gears is when I had d'uccles and people would try to correct me saying "that's a bantam" no hun, it is a d'uccle which is the breed, bantam only refers to size. When I walk around swaps and ask what specific breed or mixture of breeds a pretty bird is and get told "bantam" 🙄 knowledge is important, especially if you are buying or selling.

It's been a while since I've posted. So a quick update, lost my boy Blue (Blue Marans) only days after our last bout of freezing weather. I'm so sad about losing him. He was a great boy, very docile, produced beautiful babies. I have lost every single growout but 1 due to "stray" cats, that I have been babying for months, within a week of being moved into the growout pen. I also lost my beautiful silver laced cochin (large fowl) that was one of my OGs, "Scramble" she was almost 6 years old. Losing animals, pets or livestock, sucks. I'm not sure where I want to go next, I feel like I just keep having to start over every darn year and it's depressing. I cannot wait to move and get away from certain neighbors that keep bringing home cats, letting them reproduce, feeding them just long enough to get them to stick around then they come in my yard to where the food is fresh, young chicken, quail, rabbits, geese, turkey.... I get all these cats gone and magically more appear. They have scratched up our vehicles and ATVs, my carport smells like straight cat urine, they crap in my vegi garden.... its one feat after another and I'm the dummy that keeps trying against all odds.
