Newport, it’s time to break out those bibs and get your butter-dipping fingers ready—the official start of the season is here! Starting this weekend, the ’s kitchen is firing up the grills, steaming the pots, and prepping to serve up the freshest seafood in town.

That’s right—this Friday marks the grand reopening of the kitchen, which in Newport terms means winter is officially over, and it’s socially acceptable to eat lobster rolls for breakfast, lunch, and dinner again. If you’ve been daydreaming about sinking your teeth into Newport’s freshest lobster roll, dunking crispy lobster bites into tangy tartar sauce, or wrapping your hands around a piping hot cup of bisque, it’s finally time to make those dreams a reality.

Some of our favorites on deck...

* Newport’s Freshest Lobster Roll – Served up straight from local waters—no frills, just pure lobster perfection with a light touch of mayo on a fresh, pillowy-soft roll.
* Lobster Bisque – A creamy, dreamy bowl of liquid gold.
* Clam Chowder – Thick, hearty, and loaded with fresh clams—it’s a New England classic for a reason.
* Lobster Bites – Golden, crispy, and packed with sweet, succulent lobster meat. Pro tip: order extra, pretend you’ll share, then don’t.
* Calamari – Lightly fried and served up hot with tart banana peppers, because no Rhode Island seafood spread is complete without it.
* Steamed Lobster Dinner – Comes with corn on the cob, coleslaw, and a shameful amount of melted butter for dipping (no judgment).

For now, the kitchen will be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11 AM to 5 PM, so plan accordingly and bring your appetite. And if you’re looking to stock up on the freshest seafood straight off the boat, the market will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM—because nothing beats cooking up your own catch of the day.

So whether you’re a local seafood fanatic or just looking for an excuse to kick off the season with a lobster roll in hand, Newport Lobster Shack is the place to be this weekend. Get there early, because once the season starts, the cravings don’t stop!
