Every rescue needs support for essentials like veterinary and farrier care, but what makes Happy Trails unique is our commitment to going beyond the basics. 💚

Your support helps us provide a comprehensive approach to equine welfare, including:

🐎 Training & rehabilitation to help horses rebuild trust, gain confidence, and prepare for successful adoptions.

🤲 Whole-horse wellness through additional services like bodywork to support comfort, mobility, and overall well-being.

🏡 Lifelong sanctuary care for horses who cannot be adopted, ensuring they receive individualized care and comfort for the rest of their lives.

💚 Our Surrender Prevention Program to help horse owners facing difficult circumstances find alternatives to surrendering their horses, keeping horses with the people who love them whenever possible.

These programs take time, expertise, and resources, but they make a tremendous difference in the lives of the horses we serve. From helping a horse become adoptable to supporting an owner through a difficult season, we believe rescue should be about more than responding to a crisis. It’s about creating better outcomes for horses.

Join us TOMORROW at Mountain Burger and help make this comprehensive care possible! 🍔🐴 Mention Happy Trails at checkout, and 20% of your purchase will support our herd and programs.

Thank you for being part of what makes Happy Trails special! 💚

💚 Thankful Thursday! 🐴

Today, we’re feeling especially grateful that Happy Trails Horse Rescue can offer a horse-specific squeeze chute to help make essential veterinary care safer and more accessible for our equine community!

We’re proud to make this resource available to the public in exchange for donations and, even better, FREE for fellow nonprofits! We believe that supporting the health and well-being of horses takes a community, and we’re honored to do our part to help make necessary care more accessible.

Every horse deserves access to the care they need, and we’re thankful to be able to support the people and organizations working hard to make that happen. 💚

Thank you to everyone who supports Happy Trails and helps us make resources like this possible!

We never expect something like this in our community - no family should ever have to face this kind of heartbreak.

Our hearts are with the students, families, and staff of Silver Rail Elementary and our entire community as we come together during this horrible time. 💔

🐴 HORSE CARE TIPS TUESDAY: Horses Can Get Into the Craziest Predicaments! 🩹💜

One of the most important things to remember when caring for horses is to ALWAYS stay watchful! Horses have a knack for finding the craziest ways to injure themselves, sometimes leaving us scratching our heads wondering, HOW did that even happen?! 🤦‍♀️🐎

Just a few weeks ago, we discovered that Violet had a HUGE laceration on her leg, and we had absolutely no idea how it happened! 😳

Our best guess? She may have accidentally sliced her leg on her own hoof while getting up from lying down. Yes, horses really can find the most unexpected ways to get hurt!

Thankfully, we were able to get Violet the care she needed and have her leg stitched up quickly! 💜 We were so relieved to get her taken care of and grateful that we caught the injury and could act fast.

💡 The takeaway? Even with the best care, unexpected injuries happen. That’s why daily observation, quick action, and access to veterinary care are so important when caring for horses.

❤️ And this is exactly what YOUR DONATIONS make possible!

Emergency veterinary care, stitches, medications, and all the unexpected expenses that come with keeping our herd safe and healthy add up quickly. Your generosity helps us be there for our horses when they need us most!

We are incredibly grateful for every single donation, whether it’s a one-time gift or a monthly horse sponsorship! Monthly sponsorships are especially wonderful because they provide ongoing support we can count on as we care for our herd. 🐴💕

🎉 SPONSORING A HORSE IS NOW EASIER THAN EVER!

We’ve recently moved to a NEW donation platform to make supporting your favorite horse simpler than ever!

🐎 Visit our website, find the horse who speaks to your heart, click the SPONSOR button right under their name!

Thank you for being part of our herd’s story and helping us be there for them, no matter what surprises come our way! 💜

🐴💚 Thankful Thursday! 💚🐴

Today, we have SO much to be thankful for because Jester has officially found his forever home! 🎉

But wait… it gets even better! Jester, now affectionately known as Rip, didn’t just find his forever family — he found a new girlfriend, too! 🥰💕

And perhaps the sweetest part of this happy ending? Rip was adopted by one of our amazing Happy Trails volunteers! 💚

There’s something extra special about watching a horse go from being part of the rescue to becoming part of the family of someone who already knows and loves them. We couldn’t be happier for Rip and his new family, and we can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead for this sweet boy.

Congratulations, Rip! We miss you around Happy Trails, but we are SO excited to watch you live your best life. 🥹🐴❤️

Happy trails, Rip! 🌟
