We want to take a moment to thank each and every one of you who has stood beside us, supported us, and helped us care for the countless cats who have needed a second chance. Your kindness truly makes all the difference.

Unfortunately, due to a recent emergencies involving several injured cats who require immediate and ongoing care, we must temporarily close our funding intake for new cats. Our small program is currently doing everything we can to stabilize and support the sweet souls already in our care, many of whom are fighting to heal.

This is never an announcement we want to make, and our hearts are heavy. But right now, we must give our full attention to the injured cats depending on us.

If you’re able, your donation (no matter the amount) will help us to re-open our funding to provide medical care, comfort, and safety to the injured cats who need us. Your generosity becomes their hope, their healing, and sometimes their only chance. Donations can be sent to: Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading, Pa 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

Thank you for always showing up with love. Thank you for believing in the work we do. And thank you for giving these precious cats a chance at life. 💕

This tiny 9-week-old kitten was found injured and rushed to the vet for emergency care. Sadly, his injuries were severe, and he needed both a leg and his tail amputated to survive. That’s when BCIC was contacted to step in and help this brave little guy get the surgery he desperately needed.

Fluffanutter’s surgery was a success, and he is now resting safely. Though it looks like he’s missing half his body, this little warrior is already showing us that once he heals, he’ll be able to get around just fine. We may never know what happened to him, but what we do know is that his future is already looking brighter.

Unfortunately, Fluffanutter’s surgery costs have completely exhausted BCIC’s emergency medical funds, leaving us unable to help other cats in need until we can recover. If you’re able to contribute toward Fluffanutter’s medical bills, we would be so incredibly grateful. Every single donation (big or small) helps us continue saving lives just like his.

Please send donations to our program to support Fluffanutter’s recovery and reopen our ability to help others. Donations can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or Paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts… and from Fluffanutter, who says “thank mew”!

This poor cat showed up at a home with what we thought was a leg wound. We rushed him to Blue Pearl hoping he could be stitched up, fixed, and re-released. That was not the case.

Meet Putters.

His exam was full of surprises. What looked like a wound turned out to be a degloved portion of his leg. The bone and muscle are intact, but the skin that should be covering them is completely gone. There isn’t enough remaining skin to close the wound, so we are relying on the surgeon to determine whether his leg can be saved or if it will need to be amputated.

Either way, Putters faces a major surgery this week, and we need your help to make it possible. Donations are urgently needed. Please help if you can by sending a donation to: Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723,Reading, PA 19607 or
paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis

Despite everything he’s gone through, Putters had one more surprise for us…
The staff at Blue Pearl described him as an INCREDIBLE cat, friendly, sweet, and trusting. They don’t use those words lightly, and we’ve never heard them say that about a rescued kitty before!

Putters is resting safely tonight. Let’s come together and make sure his days ahead are much brighter. This boy deserves a chance.
Thank you for stepping up for Putters.

As we pause to reflect on what we’re grateful for this Thanksgiving, our hearts turn to you, the compassionate community that makes our mission possible. Because of your generosity, injured stray cats who once faced fear, pain, and uncertainty now have a chance to heal, feel safe, and discover kindness, often for the very first time.

Every bandaged paw, every restored heartbeat, every tiny, hopeful purr exists because you chose to help. You’ve turned cold streets into warm recovery spaces. You’ve transformed suffering into second chances. You’ve reminded these fragile animals (and us) that empathy is powerful, and that hope is something we build together.

Thank you for believing that every life, no matter how small or forgotten, deserves care. Thank you for standing with us, for giving these cats dignity, comfort, and the possibility of a brighter future.

From our team, and every whiskered friend you’ve helped rescue, we wish you a warm, joyful, and peaceful Thanksgiving. May your kindness return to you a hundredfold.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Berks Cats in Crisis

Bcic was contacted last night for a late-night rescue with two tiny kittens, and we had to use our very last can of KMR to save them. These babies come to us without warning, and having formula ready can literally mean the difference between life and death.

If you’d like to help us be prepared for the next little ones who need us, you can send kitten formula directly to us using the link below. Every can makes a HUGE difference. Thank you for supporting the tiniest lives.

Many of you have been asking about sweet Kiera, so here’s an update! 💕

She has officially finished her antibiotics and treatments, and she’ll be following up with the vet this week for her shots. She’s doing so well — playful, super cuddly, and purring with a motor that just doesn’t stop. 🐾

Thank you so much to everyone who has donated toward her care so far. Your kindness has made all the difference. ❤️

Kiera still needs her remaining shots and to be fixed, so any additional contributions toward her continued care would mean the world to us. Donations can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

Thank you all for your continued love and support!

Donations needed for Batty!

Sometimes we can’t help but worry about what would happen to the cats we help if we weren’t here. Each one depends on our program, and Batty is a reminder of why our work matters so deeply.

When we were first contacted about Batty, the photos were heartbreaking. His leg injury was severe — so much so that immediate amputation was the only option to save his life. Thankfully, our trusted veterinarian was able to take over Batty’s care and perform the surgery right away. We were relieved and grateful to learn that he had no other major injuries.

Since his operation, Batty has been receiving light therapy to help his body heal faster. He’s eating well, adjusting beautifully in his foster home, and showing us every day just how strong and resilient he is.

There’s still a long road ahead for Batty, but he’s surrounded by love and care and we’ll keep sharing updates as he continues to recover.

We need your help to cover the cost of Batty’s surgery and ongoing treatment. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in his journey and in the lives of cats like him.

Please consider donating to help Batty heal:

🐾 Meet Stitch 🐾
Stitch was trapped during a recent mass trapping event. During his vet exam, it was discovered that he suffers from a painful eye condition called entropion, which causes the eyelids to turn inward, scratching the surface of the eye with every blink.

BCIC was contacted to see if we could help cover the cost of his surgery so Stitch could finally be pain-free and prevent any permanent eye damage. We were happy to say YES!

Thanks to your support, the amazing VOM vet team was able to perform Stitch’s surgery last week, and he’s healing beautifully! He’ll be back for a recheck Monday, and we’re so hopeful for his bright future. We hear he has a possible indoor placement!

As the weather turns colder, emergencies are increasing, and our funds are running low. Please consider making a donation to help with Stitch’s surgery and care. Your support allows us to keep saying YES to the next cat who needs us.

Donations can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis.

This little guy was found sick, with severely infected eyes. Thankfully, a kind person scooped him up and took him straight to the vet, who reached out to BCIC for help with his treatment and medications and of course, we said yes!

Your support of our program makes moments like this possible. Because of you, we’re able to step in and give cats like him the care they deserve.

He doesn’t have a name yet and we’d love your help! Drop your name suggestions below 👇

We are also seeking rescue placement for this sweet boy.

If you’d like to help with his care, donations are deeply appreciated and can be sent to Berks Cats in Crisis, PO Box 723, Reading PA 19607 or paypal.me/berkscatsincrisis. Every dollar truly makes a difference. Because of you, this tiny life has a second chance. ❤️ Thank you!
