Dr. Henry here! This past week we have been celebrating Veterinary Technician week.

This is a time where we focus in our ever-present gratitude for our veterinary nurses and all the incredible, life-changing hard work they do every single day.

Here at Raymond Animal Hospital, we have the best nurses around! (I'm clearly not biased at all). They are truly incredible in how they show up for your furry family members day in and day out. They are your phlebotomist, anesthesiologist, surgical assistant, laboratory specialist, patient care coordinator, nervous nugget snuggler, and a shoulder to lean on with your worries and concerns all rolled into one incredible package.

While we recognize their superhero level awesomeness daily, I LOVE getting to take the opportunity to outwardly celebrate them. With homemade lunches, ice cream sundaes, seasonal arts and crafts, and some of our long-standing shenanigans (ask them what they "hunted" this year)...we have spent the week pointing out just how much we are in awe of all their hard work and prowess.

Below is a sample of some of our artistic endeavors this week and there will be more photos to come of other events, please share your gratitude and thanks for Steph, Tiff, Susan, Bonnie, Aimee, and Wendy. Without them...I sincerely couldn't do this job that I love.

Happy to the masters of mischief, nap champions, and treat connoisseurs. 😼
They ignore us, sass us, and somehow still have us wrapped around their little paws, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Give your cat an extra treat today (and share a pic in the comments — they won’t care, but we will).

Our pets come in all shapes and sizes, but how can we tell if that shape is healthy or not? Give your pet a nice squeeze. If it is difficult to feel their bones, then they might need some help managing their weight.

When the vet says, “We’re just gonna take a quick look back there…” 👀🐶
And suddenly your pet has a lot of questions. 😂
What’s your pet’s “absolutely NOT” moment at the vet? 👇

Have you ever caught yourself thinking..."Maybe they're just slowing down"?
It's easy to chalk little changes up to getting older. But sometimes they're not signs of aging at all. Sometimes they're signs of arthritis. In fact, osteoarthritis affects 40% of pets — but most go undiagnosed. And the good news? Arthritis pain can often be managed with safe, effective treatments and isn't something your pet simply has to live with. So, if you do notice any potential signs – talk to us! We can help your pet feel like themselves.
