Our August fundraiser is very, very special to us! We originally started Pups and Recreation in Randolph so this hits very close to home. ❤️

is an all-volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of orphaned pets. They also handle animal control for Randolph, Dover, and Rockaway! They always have so many amazing dogs and cats available for adoption, so if you’re looking for a new companion, they are the perfect place to go!

Any sort of donation made goes directly to the welfare of the animals! Please consider donating to this wonderful, local organization!

In honor of event with on Saturday, July 12th, our July fundraiser will be going to helping them raise donations!

Jordan’s Way is a national movement started by Kris Rotonda who travels the country raising awareness about the crisis of homeless pets and has raised over $12 million in funds for the shelters who care for them.

This Saturday from 6-9pm, EHR will be live streaming from the Roxbury Mall Adoption Center to welcome Kris back to New Jersey! It will be featuring donation-based challenges like pie face and ice baths. Hop on the live stream and see what will happen with Alison and Luigi… 🥧🧊😂

This is going to be a great event, but if you can’t join us live, you can always donate! Any donations made up to $500 will be matched by us personally!

Yesterday, we had the chance to tour The Seeing Eye facility and it was truly inspiring to see and learn how much work goes into everything the staff do with the dogs!

The history:
The Seeing Eye is the world’s oldest guide dog school. The organization was started in 1929 and settled in Morris Township, NJ in 1965. That’s 96 years that they have been matching dogs with the blind!

The process:
500 puppies are bred and born at a boarding facility in Chester. They are then raised by volunteer puppy raisers until they are 12 months old, and then they go into training for 4 months! They very carefully match each dog according to each persons needs. They will even travel all over the US with the dogs to transport them to their owners!

It truly is amazing seeing what all goes into it. Thank you, Kyle for showing us around and sharing all of the history with us! It was a pleasure meeting you (and Bailey!)

🌟 Employee Spotlight 🌟

Meet Melisa, our client turned long-time employee! We were connected through when she adopted her Sato, Elliot, and we were instantly drawn to her!

She is so loving and caring to every dog she meets. We knew we had to have her on our team! She has been with us basically since the beginning, but she will be leaving us to start a new chapter in Hawaii later this year! 🌺🌴 Selfishly, we wish she could stay with us forever but we are so excited for her!

A little bit more about Melisa…

“I’m and HR specialist/dog walker. When I’m not dog walking I enjoy spending time with my family & taking my boys out on the lake in our kayak. I love to travel and always eager to try new things that involve food or experiences!“

Their mission? To enhance the independence, dignity, and self-confidence of people who are blind — all through the life-changing partnership between humans and Seeing Eye dogs. How cool is that?! 🦮

At Pups and Recreation, we’re all about dogs, community, and doing good — so this just felt like the perfect match! 🐶❤️
