Our adoption centers at both the Apex and Morrisville Petsmart locations are full of wonderful cats and kittens looking for homes!

Meet Possum 💕
Possum is a kind, gentle, and sweet girl who has been patiently waiting for her forever home. She may be a little cautious at first, but once she feels safe and trusts you, she’ll claim you as her person—jumping up near you and asking for gentle pets with her loving gaze.

She has a soft, endearing way about her and isn’t shy about letting you know when it’s mealtime—she’ll happily chat with you before digging into her food. Possum also adores relaxing on her perch in a sunny window, watching the world go by.

Possum happens to have FeLV (feline leukemia virus), which means her immune system is a little more delicate than other cats’. While FeLV isn’t curable, many cats like Possum live happy, love-filled lives for years with proper care. To keep her safe and healthy, she’ll need an indoor-only home and should either be your one-and-only cat or live with another FeLV+ companion.

Possum doesn’t see herself as “special needs”—she only knows gentle pets, tasty treats, and the comfort of her human. In return, she’ll shower you with affection and gratitude every single day.

Teddy (14 weeks) and Dominique (12 weeks) are currently sleeping off the effects of their anesthesia (thank you Safe Care Spay-Neuter Clinic!) and will be available for adoption shortly. Although different in personality, both were rescued quite young and have only known a two-kitten foster environment. Therefore, we are hoping that this sweet, bonded Odd Couple can find their forever home together. We will have pictures and bios up on our website soon!

Meet Arnold!!

This handsome boy 😍 is just full of love and snuggles. He wants nothing more than to cuddle. Arnold will seek out your lap, crawl up to your chest and settle in for snuggles without permission. He just wants to give and receive love from his human. Arnold has a heart-melting sweet disposition. His presence is a warm hug you didn’t even know you needed.
Arnold would do well with other cats and should be ok with nice dogs who want to be friends.
He is 3 months old and now available for adoption.

Five Tiny New Arrivals! 🐾🐱

We’ve welcomed five more baby kittens into the Paw Prints family! These little ones were discovered in the back of a pickup truck, but you’d never guess it by their personalities — they’re as sweet, cuddly, and social as can be. 💕

We’ve got four boys and one girl, and yes, the ginger trend continues! It’s been a big year for orange fluff and boy cats around here.

At just five weeks old, they’ve got a lot of growing to do. Right now, they’re happily lapping up kitten formula and wet food, and they’re doing a pretty great job with the litter box (with just a few oopsies along the way).

If you’d like to help us care for these adorable faces, canned kitten food is always welcome and very much appreciated.

When the sun hits just right and all your worries melt away… ☀️🐱

Sometimes a photo just leaves us speechless… and this is one of them. 😻
Our sweet boy Benson found the perfect sunbeam and decided it was the moment to fully soak it in. We’ve never seen him this relaxed — his foster mom couldn’t help but laugh at how content he looked!

Meet Dobby! 🐾

Our volunteers have been hard at work this week, and we have some heartwarming updates to share!

Thanks to your support, we were able to help a small rural shelter rescue three young momma cats, their newborns, and a few orphaned kittens—about 20 lives saved in total! All of them are now safe and settling into loving foster homes with our incredible volunteer team.

One of the young moms already visited the vet today. Her foster noticed something wasn’t right when she refused to nurse her four kittens. She was diagnosed with mastitis, a double ear infection, and fleas, but she’s now receiving the care she needs to heal and get back to being the wonderful mom she wants to be.

With so many hungry little mouths to feed, we’ve updated our Amazon Wish List and could really use donations of kitten food to help these babies grow strong and to support their moms as they nurse.

If you’re able to donate, we would be deeply grateful. Every gift makes a difference. The link to our wish list is in the comments below, and we’ll be sharing photos as the kittens begin to thrive in their foster homes.

Meet this adorable and purrfect power duo: Friday and Benson!
Strangers when they first met, now inseparable best friends.

Friday came to us at just 8 weeks old and is now a sweet, playful 5-month-old. Why he’s still with us is a mystery — he’s the total package! Handsome, social, loving, and full of personality.

Benson had a rough start in life. A tiny singleton lost in a feral colony with no mom or siblings, he weighed just one pound when a kind-hearted caretaker found him and reached out for help. His foster mom says bringing him in was one of the best decisions she ever made — he completely stole her heart.

Now, Friday is like a big brother to little Benson. They’re the perfect pair — always snuggling, playing, and bringing joy to everyone around them.

We would be overjoyed if a family wanted to adopt them together — they’re truly move-in ready and guaranteed to steal your heart. However, if they do need to be adopted separately, we ask that each go to a home with another friendly kitty companion to help ease the transition.

You can visit Friday and Benson at Apex PetSmart, where you’ll likely find them curled up together, dreaming of their forever home.

The Story of Paw Print’s Volunteers who love Animals....

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers working tirelessly to save as many dogs and cats as responsibly as possible in our state of North Carolina. We pull from shelters all over so these animals will not be euthanized due to overcrowded shelters, in addition to finding many of our adoptable animals off the streets or from dangerous situations. We welcome these wayward animals into our homes and give them all the love we can in addition to medicating, cleaning, holding them and giving them comfort when they need it most. Sadly, we are with many of these animals when they take their final breath, and we cry many tears from heartache.

We also have volunteers who dedicate countless hours each week to TNR (Trap, Neuter & Release) helping to reduce the cat population that has skyrocketed all over North Carolina. TNR is vital in keeping animals OUT of shelters where they will be otherwise killed. We spend every weekend hosting adoption events at various Petsmart locations in Wake County meeting potential adopters. Adopting an animal into a loving and forever home is our mission, and when we adopt one, we can save another......and another......
