Satin Update 🩷
We're worried about Satin.
As a naturally shy dog, shelter life has become a nightmare for her. Every day brings new people, constant barking, unfamiliar smells, and very little routine or stability for her to rely on.
This doesn't mean Satin is a bad dog.
It means there's a reason she found comfort hiding in that culvert before she came to us. Fear has always been her way of surviving.
The stress of the shelter is beginning to catch up with her, and she's started displaying barrier frustration in her kennel. Because of this, we've moved her off the adoption floor to our quieter quarantine area where there's less foot traffic and fewer daily stressors. She remains available for adoption.
We know Satin is scared—not aggressive. We've seen her accept treats, allow gentle affection, and peacefully exist alongside another dog. But fear and prolonged stress can change how any dog responds to the world. We don't want to wait until that happens.
Satin needs someone willing to give her what the shelter can't: a quiet place, a predictable routine, and the time to learn that she no longer has to be afraid.
Not every dog shows their best self in a shelter. Some simply survive it.
