Plumas County Animal Services Plumas County Animal Services, a department of Plumas County (CA) Sheriff's Office, is the animal control offices for our county.

We deal with domestic animals. Please call the shelter at 530-283-3673 to make an appointment. Animal Control Officers can be called out to the field for animal emergencies, so the office is subject to temporary closures with little notice. If you have an animal emergency (dog attack, etc.,) please call PCSO dispatch at 530-283-6300 to have an animal control officer dispatched. Social media accoun

ts are handled by an off-site volunteer who may not have the most current information. While messages will be responded to, inquiries of interest in adopting a specific animal should be called in to the shelter, not sent to social media. Adoption fees are $10 for cats and dogs. Unaltered puppies and kittens require a refundable spay/neuter deposit. Dog licensing fees for Plumas County are $15 per year. The City of Portola handles their own licensing. ADOPTABLE MOMMA DOG AND PUPPIES : “Queen Clarion” is a young adult (1-2 years old) who was brought in with her puppies. Queen C is a medium sized girl, and we’re told that the Poppa dog is small to medium. The puppies Tinkerbell, Bobble and Terrence look like little terriers, and we expect them to be medium sized (just our guess!). Momma and puppies are very sweet and are looking for forever homes! Found dog 5/27/26: UPDATE DOG IS HOME This goober was found swimming in the big puddle at the bottom of the loading dock of Grocery Outlet in Quincy. Look familiar? That’s because we picked this one up last Wednesday, also😂

Update: Antelope Lake dog has been reunited with family 💜

COURTESY POST FOR A FOUND DOG AT ANTELOPE LAKE: 5/10/26 This fluffy friend was found at Antelope Lake, running around Lost Cove Boat Launch. The kind folks who found this sweet pal asked around to the few people there and no one claimed the dog as theirs. Pup is safe and healthy, will be spending the night with the people who found it in Lassen County. They will bring doggo to a facility to have it scanned for a microchip. If you or someone you know is missing this darling, please contact our facility so we can put you in touch with the finders! 530-283-3673
