Adoption spotlight – Frank!
Frank is a 2.5 year old, piebald, shorthaired Doxie. He is a sweet, soulful pup who’s looking for a calm, loving forever home. He was recently surrendered by his previous owner and is now ready to start a new chapter with someone who truly understands his gentle spirit. Frank gets along well with other dogs and cats. His behavior around children is unknown, but he may do well with older, respectful kids. He’s house trained, kennel trained, and walks nicely on a leash. While he’s timid at first, once he feels safe, he becomes incredibly affectionate and loves to snuggle. He likes to sleep in bed with his people and thrives on love and praise.
Frank enjoys going for walks and sunbathing. He’s a “dog’s dog” and needs another confident, playful dog in the home to help him build confidence. He’s not interested in toys and isn’t food motivated like most dachshunds.
His ideal home would be calm and quiet, with someone who is home more often than not. Patience is key, as Frank needs time to warm up and feel secure. A home with another friendly dog will help him continue to grow and thrive.
From Frank’s foster, “This is handsome man Frank. He’s honestly one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet. He’s more into his doggy pals, but once he warms up to you, he turns into the biggest cuddle bug. It’s hilarious how he shows affection—he’ll give you the gentlest kisses like he’s trying not to hurt you. Frank loves going on walks, and he has this funny habit when he goes number 2. We call it the ‘drive-by poo’ because he’ll lift his leg like he’s about to p*e, but then, surprise! He just poos! I think he’s a little shy about it. Once he’s comfortable, he’s the ultimate Velcro pup!”
