🐾ADOPTION SPOTLIGHT: MEET THE KISSY TWINS! 🐾
Double the love, double the tail wags! Meet Stacy and Cinnamon, a beautifully bonded pair of dachshunds looking for a patient home where they can truly shine together.
✨ STACY ✨

* Skills: Fully house, kennel, and leash trained. Doggie door savvy.
* Hobbies: Chasing balls, morning play sessions, and giving great kisses.
✨ CINNAMON ✨
* Age: 3 years old | Weight: 20 lbs
* Personality: The more timid sister. Highly devoted and genuinely lovely once she trusts you.
* Skills: Fully house, kennel, and leash trained. Car ride expert.
* Hobbies: Squeaky toys, exploring the backyard, and sleeping near Stacy.
🏡 THEIR PERFECT HOME:
* A patient family who understands a slow start leads to lifelong devotion.
* Someone who works from home or is around more often than not.
* A home with calm dogs or older kids (cats are unknown).
💬 FOSTER MOM’S POV:
“If you give these girls time to adjust, you will earn some BFFs for life. Both Stacy and Cinnamon are super friendly and sweet, with tail wags every time they see you, even if you just left the room for a minute. They love to give kisses to each other and to their people, we have nicknamed them the ‘kissy twins’. Stacy and Cinnamon are my quiet coworkers hanging out in the office during the day and ready to play ball and run around when work is done. With love and patience, they will be a great addition to their furrever homes.”

HTDR Alumni Update- Annie!
Annie was adopted in April 2026. From her furever family, “I just wanted to give you a quick update on precious Annie! She is amazing! Utley is doing great on his recovery from his relapse of IMHA and the two of them have bonded beautifully! Annie especially loves the big backyard, playing with her balls and chasing lizards! Thank you so much for everything HTDR did to make that adoption possible. As always, thank you for everything you do!”
Thank you for the update on precious Annie. We’re so happy to see she is settling in well. We wish you many years of joy and snuggles ❤️🐾❤️🐾

💟 Tonopah 9 Update: Raven 💟
Raven is a 5-year-old black and tan female dachshund from our Tonopah 9 group and the mother of Brinkley.
Unfortunately, Raven lost the use of her hind legs last week and is currently paralyzed in her rear end. She is on strict crate rest, receiving medication, and undergoing both acupuncture and laser therapy. We are hopeful that with time, treatment, and lots of love, Raven will be walking again.
Her foster mom shares:
“On June 2nd, Raven seemed a little off compared to her usual self. She wasn’t interested in eating and was walking a little differently, which made me think she might just have a tummy ache. The next day, I noticed her feet slightly dragging when she walked, and within four hours she was dragging both of her hind legs.
We took her to the vet on Thursday, and after X-rays of her spine were taken, the doctors became concerned. We immediately started steroids, electroacupuncture, and laser therapy twice a week. Depending on her progress later this month, we’ll determine the next steps.
At home, we’re doing physical therapy by gently moving her legs as if she is walking and performing bicycle motions as recommended by her doctor. Raven has been incredibly cooperative during her treatments and therapy sessions. When crate rest began, she definitely voiced her opinion about being separated from the others and demanded to be included with the group! After a few nights, she adjusted to the changes. We are now in the second week of treatments and remain very hopeful that she will continue improving.”
Please keep sweet Raven in your thoughts as she works hard on her recovery. We know she feels the love and support from our wonderful HTDR community. ❤️🐾

🐾 Charlie Adoption Cam 🐾
Foster POV
When Charlie first came to us, it was clear he had experienced neglect. We believe he spent much of his life kenneled, so watching him discover the comforts of a loving home has been incredibly rewarding.
The very first thing Charlie did was burrow completely under a pile of blankets and sleep for hours. To this day, if he’s not curled up right beside his person, that’s exactly where you’ll find him. Charlie loves being close to his people and would happily spend every night snuggled up with them.
Charlie is the ultimate companion dog. He walks beautifully on leash, enjoys his daily strolls, travels wonderfully in the car, and is generally relaxed in public. We think he’s just so grateful to be included that he tries his very best wherever he goes. Because of how attached he becomes to his people, Charlie would thrive with someone who enjoys being home and wants a constant companion by their side.
One of Charlie’s most adorable traits is his funny little smile—sometimes his lip gets caught on his teeth, giving him a permanently goofy expression. His front legs turn outward, adding even more character to his charming look. He’ll talk to you, make you laugh, and still has a playful side when the mood strikes.
Charlie could be happy as an only dog or with the right canine companion. He does best with independent, laid-back dogs and would not enjoy sharing attention with another dog that is especially needy or demanding.
Once Charlie chooses his person, he loves with his whole heart. He can be protective of his home and may bark at unfamiliar visitors, making him an excellent watchdog. We’re working on redirecting those behaviors, and because he’s highly treat-motivated and takes treats so gently, he’s making great progress. With proper introductions, Charlie quickly realizes guests are friends and settles down.
Charlie is easy to love, and when he loves you back, he does so with his whole heart. ❤️
Could Charlie be the companion you’ve been waiting for?

🎀Winnie’s Wednesday Weigh-In🎀
Winnie is continuing to make wonderful progress on her weight-loss journey!
This week, Winnie weighed in at 42.7 pounds, bringing her total weight loss to 3.75 pounds since beginning her journey at 46.45 pounds.
But the biggest victories aren’t always found on the scale. ❤️
Winnie’s foster family has noticed some amazing non-scale victories:
🐾 Her chest is no longer touching the floor when she stands—there’s now enough room to slide a hand underneath.
🐾 She’s comfortably walking longer distances.
🐾 And perhaps her favorite achievement of all—when a toy is tossed, Winnie eagerly trots (and sometimes even runs!) to go get it.
These improvements show just how much her hard work is paying off. Every pound lost helps reduce strain on her body, improves her mobility, and allows her to enjoy life more fully.
We’re incredibly proud of Winnie and so grateful to everyone who follows her journey and cheers her on each week. Your support means the world to this sweet girl.
Way to go, Winnie! Keep moving, keep playing, and keep shining. 💘

🎉 We’re proud to share that Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue has earned Candid’s Platinum Seal of Transparency for 2026! 🎉
This is Candid’s highest level of recognition and reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability, and measurable impact.
We are especially excited because this achievement represents a significant step forward from our previous Silver Seal, demonstrating our continued dedication to providing supporters, donors, grantmakers, and community partners with a clear view of how their contributions help change lives.
For Happy Tails Dachshund Rescue, transparency means showing not only what we do, but the impact your support makes possible. Every donation helps us rescue, rehabilitate, provide medical care, and find loving homes for dachshunds in need.
Earning the Platinum Seal also increases our visibility with grantmakers, corporate sponsors, and larger organizations looking to support nonprofits that demonstrate strong stewardship and measurable results.
Most importantly, this recognition belongs to our incredible community of adopters, fosters, volunteers, donors, and supporters. Because of you, more dachshunds receive the care, second chances, and happy endings they deserve.
Thank you for believing in our mission and helping us continue to save lives, one tail wag at a time. 💙🐾
