Our instructors for both OHS and OSHS put together a strong weekend at the 2026 Oklahoma Farriers Association Memorial Contest, and we couldn’t be more proud of the way they represented both the school and the trade ⚒️

One thing we always preach at school is that learning never stops in this trade. These instructors spend their days teaching students, then turn around and put their own skills on the line in the competition ring.

We’re proud of this crew for continuing to push themselves, represent the school well, and set the standard for the students watching behind them ⚒️🧲

Wow… just wow. Speechless is an understatement. We are beyond proud of Nick, Thomas, Gage, and Cody for showing up and showing out at the Oklahoma Farriers Association Memorial Contest – Student Division.

The AFA Convention was a real eye opener for these four, and when the opportunity to compete fell in their lap, they put in the blood, sweat, time, and effort to prepare. Early mornings, late nights, and plenty of hours spent in front of the forge sharpening their skills. They stayed after it, kept pushing, and it paid off.

This trade will humble you quick, but it also rewards the ones willing to keep showing up and do the work. Watching these guys rise to the occasion and represent OHS the way they did made us proud beyond words. We hope they set an example for current and future students that hard work, consistency, and extra effort outside of normal school hours does pay off 🏆⚒️

So with that being said…

Graduation looks a little different for this week since we’re in El Reno for the Oklahoma Farriers Association Memorial Clinic & Contest, but we still got’er done!

Let’s put our hands together for the following:

Abbie Belore: 8-week Professional Horseshoeing Course
Thomas Milnes: 12-week Advanced Horseshoeing Course
Brayson Gaines: 2-week Basic Horseshoeing Course
Morgan Kelso: 2-week Basic Horseshoeing Course

Between forge day, horses, the clinics/demos, contest, and graduation, it’s been a full week of learning, competition, and good company. A great way to send another group of students out into the trade. Congratulations y’all and remember, the learning doesn’t stop once you leave the barn doors. Keep working hard, stay humble, and keep striving to be better than you were yesterday ⚒️🧲
