Today is International Homeless Animals' Day.

"Data from the State of Pet Homelessness Project – compiled from over 900 global sources, nearly 30,000 public surveys and 200 expert interviews across 21 countries including the US, the UK, Greece, Thailand, Brazil, Turkey and South Africa – shows that one in three pets worldwide has no home. 143 million dogs and 203 million cats are currently living on the streets. In the U.S. alone, 6-6.5 million cats and dogs enter the shelter system annually; with approximately 920,000 being euthanized. 😭

When your a heartworm positive mama that’s been shot with pellets in both sides of your body and your picked up by animal control only to have you and your only left alive two pups are euthanasia listed…. Pups are adopted, she is An amazing mix and she needs a great home!

Thank You to our treasurer who stepped up and helped us rescue Luna from Lee County and driving her up to our most wonderful rescue partner Florida Rottweiler Rescue Ranch to find her a wonderful home, in speaking with Joe our Vice President, he reports Luna now known as Lena is the sweetest baby girl ever, if your looking for a Rottie this would be your gal, great with other dogs and loves people!

Unfortunately we had to place Beno in boarding this week, he really needs a place to decompress and learn trust again after his story of abandonment tied to a grocery cart. An experienced home is needed, he did well in playgroup at the shelter but has an extremely rough play style (no small dogs). He is currently located at the Inn of the dog house in Lake Worth FL., and we are working on getting our local trainer approved to come in and work with Beno.
