Bandit (tuxedo) and Smokey (tabby) were so nervous when they first came to us. It was their first time boarding and had been through a lot lately before coming to us, with some medical issues for Bandit and not getting along. All they wanted to do was hide at first.

Usually by day 3 the very nervous kitties are feeling great with us, within 24 hours normally their first time, and Smokey only needed a couple days to trust us and was purring within seconds of petting him. Bandit, on the other hand, had a rough time adjusting. He took so much longer than almost all of the cats that come in with us. It was heartbreaking. 💔

They had to be with us for a month due to a family emergency. This is not uncommon as we do many extended stays. It was just so sad to see Bandit so nervous. But with lots of one on one time, patience, and love he began to come out of his shell. He started by coming out of hiding little by little and enjoying our time together. In no time he began to stand at the door waiting for us.

Over Christmas we put Bandit and Smokey together and were concerned they may not do well together, as Bandit’s behavior had changed after starting his medication at home. But they did great together!

Bandit became my shadow and followed me everywhere. Smokey was always so happy to see me and would immediately eat when I was around because he was so pleased. Happy cats love to eat 😅

These two have a very special place in my heart and I’m so happy to have gotten through to him. They are both very special to me and moments like this where we can make them feel more at home when their family can’t be with them are what make this the most rewarding job ❤️

About Us and Our Cottage

My Cat Nap Cottage which was previously known as ‘The Cat Cottage’ has been serving the community proudly since 2008. Everything you have known and loved about The Cat Cottage has not changed with My Cat Nap Cottage. We are an exclusive cats only boarding facility and reservations are by appointment only.

Boarding is all-inclusive in regards of your pet’s care. You will not have to bring anything extra for your cat unless they have some special needs such as: administering medications, special diets, etc…)

My Cat Nap Cottage is a Veterinary approved facility. We have a clean, home-like, friendly environment for your cat(s).

We have been cat lovers and owners for decades. We have assisted in fostering at local animal rescues and also have 4 cats of our own, which are all rescues.
