Mars owns Royal Canin, Iams, Eukanuba, Nutro, Greenies, Pedigree, Cesar, Sheba, Temptations, Whiskas, and more. They also own Banfield Pet Hospital, VCA Animal Hospitals, and BluePearl Specialty & Emergency Pet Hospitals.
Nestlé owns Purina, Pro Plan, Fancy Feast, Friskies, Beneful, Merrick, Zuke's, and Tidy Cats.
Colgate-Palmolive owns Hill's Science Diet and Hill's Prescription Diet.
Many of these brands appear to be independent competitors on the shelf, but they ultimately roll up to just a few global corporations.
We think pet owners should know who is behind the products they buy so they can make informed decisions about their pet's nutrition.
