TRANSFER STATION WILL BE BACK OPEN FOR BRUSH, LEAVES AND GRASS ON MONDAY AUGUST 11TH

The Transfer Station will re-open its operations for brush, leaves and grass starting Monday August 11th but with a new set up.

Grass and leaves will now go to the left of the drop off area and brush will go to the right. They can no longer be mixed. There cannot be plant containers, plastic bags, p**p bags or any other trash mixed in with the brush, leaves or grass. Loads will be monitored by staff and anyone violating this will be asked to take their load elsewhere.

It is DPW’s goal to get us to a point where we can offer compost and wood chips to the public and we can get there with your help. Please follow the above rules and help us make this program a success.

Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation. If anyone has any questions, please call or email Sherry Prada, DPW Deputy Director at 508-487-7060 or [email protected].

Dear Neighbor,

As part of the ongoing construction project in your area, vibratory pile driving operations will begin soon. We are providing this update to help you understand what to expect and how we’re working to minimize disruptions.

What is Vibratory Pile Driving?
Vibratory pile driving is a construction method used to install structural piles into the ground by using a vibrating mechanism rather than traditional impact hammers. This method is often faster and quieter than impact driving, and is commonly used near sensitive structures or in populated areas.

When Will this Work Start & End?
o We anticipate starting on June 23th.
o We anticipate the duration of this work to be active for approximately 3-4 weeks, depending on site conditions and weather.
What You Can Expect:
o Noise and Vibration: You may notice a low-frequency humming or rumbling noise and feel ground vibrations while piles are being installed. These sensations are expected and monitored for safety.
o Typical Work Hours: Pile driving will generally occur Monday through Friday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. We will avoid early morning, evening, and weekend work whenever possible.
o Monitoring: Vibration levels will be monitored in real-time to ensure they remain within safe and acceptable limits, in compliance with local and state regulations.

Minimizing Impacts
We understand that construction work can be disruptive, and we are committed to reducing inconvenience where possible:
o Notification of major activities ahead of time
o Implementing noise-reducing techniques
