Thank you to Debbie Futschek for holding another successful event to raise funds and awareness for SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome)! Your time and energy are very much appreciated. We are also incredibly grateful to Dr. Rustin Sturgeon, who attended the gathering, Dr. Freya Mowat, for preparing a video to share with guests, and to all who joined Debbie at the Hollywood Casino in Joliet, IL on May 9.

We are looking for auction items! Handcrafted items, art, vacations or stays at vacation homes, textbooks and ophthalmology related items are always popular– but we are open to your suggestions. Be creative!

The silent auction will take place during the ACVO Conference but will use a virtual platform, allowing for online bidding by anyone who is interested in participating, not just attendees at our October 2 fundraiser. Items do not need to be sent to the VAF in advance. Instead, we will connect donors with the winning bidders once the auction has closed so items can be shipped directly.
