Say hey to Kira!
Kira is a German Shepherd and she has all our favorite breed traits - loyalty, intelligence, energy, and affection. She's a sweet girl who tends to be polite, affectionate, and food motivated. Kira has previously lived with kids in the home and done well with children as young as four years old. She has no experience with cats but has done well playing with other large breed dogs before. Kira is house trained, walks well on leash, and makes the perfect companion for long walks and daily adventures.

Meet Meena! 💙

Meena is a very friendly boy with a gorgeous long gray coat and an equally wonderful personality. He loves being around people and is ready to find a home where he can be his happy, affectionate self.

His beautiful long coat will need regular brushing to keep it healthy, comfortable, and mat-free, so his new family should be prepared to make grooming part of his routine.

Meena is looking for an adult-only home with no other animals. He may need a little time to adjust to his new surroundings, but once he feels comfortable, he’s sure to make a wonderful companion. 🐾

Introducing mister Bugzy! Bugzy boy is our sweet, undersocialized guinea pig pal seeking out an adoring home to shower him with TLC, while respecting his space and maybe, in time, helping him find him a respectful neighboring friend or compatible bondmate!

Bugzy was raised alongside his siblings and lived with his brother for some time, but made it clear these two weren't exactly the best roommates and needed their own bedrooms stat! After some disagreements left them with some wounds, now healed up wonderfully, Bugzy is recovering beautifully and seems comfortable having his space to himself to relax, zoom, and enjoy his life at his pace!

Bugzy is an adorably precious, fluffy man who takes his time to acclimate to new environments. Please don't let his shyness deter you, once he's gained his confidence and has learned to trust you, he's sure to become your most loyal buddy.

With patience, kindness, and a quiet routine, Bugzy is sure to blossom into a wonderful little companion!

Life at PARL lately 🐾

A little photo dump of the faces, moments, and everyday chaos that make PARL so special. Between caring for our animals, keeping everyone fed and comfortable, welcoming adopters, and giving out approximately one million snacks… there’s always something happening around here.

Want to help support the animals you see in our care? Our wishlist is always open, and donations of much-needed supplies make a HUGE difference for our shelter pets and the people caring for them. Every bag of food, toy, treat, cleaning supply, and enrichment item helps.

And if you’ve ever thought about getting more involved… VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN! 🎉 We’re looking for compassionate animal lovers who want to donate their time, lend a hand, and become part of the PARL community. Meet Antonio!
Antonio is a sweet husky boy, he's playful, energetic, but after a long walk and he's burnt up all his crazy energy, Antonio is a total smushy lap dog. He can be a little shy around new people, but give him a little time to get to know you and he'll be your best friend. Antonio is a high energy, dramatic, and vocal dog who thrives on daily affection, exercise, and enrichment. He's endlessly charming with his antics (the water bowl spill is his favorite naughty move) and could likely get a job as a stand-up comedian.

Antonio would do best in a teens+ household, but he's lived with other dogs before and done well. He has no experience with cats and if he were to go home to a household with resident cats, he would need a slow and careful introduction to ensure the safety and comfort of all animals involved. Antonio previously lived outside, so he may need some guidance to help him perfect his house training skills.

Meet Pinky!
Pinky is a lil girl with an adorable underbite and a habit of sneaky face kisses. She loves nothing more than sitting in her person's lap and catching them at their least expecting with quick flick of her tongue - she's got to make sure her family knows she loves them! And her love is a very special thing that needs to be earned with quiet patience and understanding. She is fearful around strangers and needs some time before she feels safe with her people, but give her a few days, tiny pieces of cheese, and take her exploring the neighborhood and she'll trust you and be your best friend before you know it. She's a huge fan of teeny squeaky toys and if you're too busy to play a game of fetch she'll entertain herself by tossing her toys in the air and catching them as they gall back down. Pinky doesn't have experience meeting new dogs or cats, but she may do well with a slow introduction to help everyone feel safe and comfortable. She would do best in a quiet, adult only home where she is given time to decompress and learn to feel safe in the home.

Pinky is in our special adoption program which sets adopters and their new pets up for success with pre and post adoption counseling. Say hello to BFFs Luna and Boba! Don't let their age fool you—these senior ladies have a young spirit and are waiting for their forever home to spend the rest of their years in. During the day, you'll often find them resting or playing in their pen! Some of their favorite activities include: running on their wheel, chewing bark off of apple sticks, or cleaning themselves up in their dust bath! Luna and Boba are two peas in a pod and love each others company. They share EVERYTHING. From snacks, toys, hideout beds... they'll even eat from the same bowl! Since they are a bonded pair, they must go home together. Luna and Boba are also looking for a species-savvy adopter that will commit to providing them the best specialized care (and to spoil them, of course!).

Meet Gooseberry! 🫐🐰

Gooseberry is an active and social girl with a curious personality and plenty of energy! She loves exploring his surroundings, hopping around, and seeing what everyone is up to. She would thrive in a home where she has plenty of space to play, enrichment to keep her busy, and lots of attention from her new people on his terms.

Gooseberry is currently awaiting surgery, but shr doesn’t have to wait to start settling into a loving home! She is available to go home as a foster until her procedure is complete. Once she has recovered and is medically cleared, her foster family will be given the first opportunity to officially adopt her

If you’re looking for a fun, friendly bunny who will bring plenty of personality into your home, Gooseberry may be the perfect addition to your family!
