🚩🚩🚩🚩The last time we sent out an SOS we got a great response from the community! We are full again :( full of cats from neglect cases, cats left behind in apartments, cats from out of state transport dumped outside, not to mention all of the usual quarantine, moms and kittens etc. People are in crisis and that means animals are in crisis. ‼️‼️ Who remembers Little Carrots? 🥕 She’s looking for a new home 🏠 and we want to keep her out of the shelter!! Sometimes, as lives and circumstances change over the years, cat guardians realize it’s best to explore rehoming one or more cats for their quality of life. This is a brave decision, there is so much stigma surrounding rehoming and pet surrender, really, there doesn’t have to be, it’s why animal shelters and rescues exist. In an ideal world, we would keep pets, friends, spouses, jobs(?!), forever, but we all know, to some degree, it’s best to try to find something better for all parties and asking for help is a fine place to start.
And now for the details!
✅ Little Carrots is 7 to 9 years old
✅ She likes other mellow cats
✅ No dogs please
✅ She loves cat trees and small mouse toys
✅ Calm, quiet home
✅ All of her vetting will be updated by PAC when she finds her new home
✅ Little Carrots survived one of the most horrific hoarding cases we have seen, she’s a graduated office cat and her people can pet her (we never got to do that!)

*** Cat in stray zone***
Do you recognize this young intact nursing female DSH Black/White cat? On 8-10-25 around 830 pm RI State police were directing traffic out of Roger Williams park at Elmwood Ave onto RT 95 North when they observed a vehicle with the windows rolled down and 2 cats in the rear window. Unbeknownst to the owners the cat that was sitting on top of a home Depot bucket fell out of the vehicle as they were turning onto the on ramp. Troopers were able to safely secure the cat in their cruiser however they were unable to attain vehicle description or plate number. We are seeking information in order to reunite this cat with the kittens. The cat is not chipped and is wearing a pink heart collar.

Do you know this spayed female DSH orange tabby cat? She was found in the area of March St/Chad Brown St (02908) on 8-9-25. This cat has been seen with another cat (DSH white/black cat) for the past month by a good Samaritan who started to feed them and gain their trust. This is the part that is interesting 🤔. The cat in our custody is chipped to an individual in Pharr, Texas who shipped a group of cats in November 2023 to an individual in Killingly, Ct. The cat's name on the health certificate is Mae. Ironically another cat named Coconut (a DSH white/black neutered male) in that same southern transport looks identical to the second cat we are currently trying to capture. It is assumed these cats were adopted out and the chips were not updated. Unfortunately, it seems these two cats who were once rescued in Texas found their way to Providence RI via transport to join the thousands of other city cats in need of rescue services.

Do you recognize these pets?

🐶 Log 397 intact male white/creme Maltese/ Poodle mix found in the Broad St area of Providence (no further information provided) on 8-7-25 by a good Samaritan and turned over to our facility. No chip. It is noted the dog is matted.

🐶 Log 403 intact male gray/white pbt mix found tethered to a fence in the area of Rugby St/Ocean St (02905) on 8-9-25. No chip

Update RTO 🐶 Log 404 female gray/white low rider bully found in the area of Manton Ave/Chalkstone Ave (02909) on 8-10-25 . No chip. note finder reported the dog followed them from Manton Ave area nearest Stop and Shop to Terrace Ave in Silver lake.

We only needed one take—because Miley was perfect for her video debut! 🎬✨

This shiny, sweet girl is a young black lab mix who’s decided she loves people just as much as she loves tennis balls (and that’s saying a lot!).

Miley has been at the Providence Animal Control Center for a while now. While many dogs struggle with shelter life, she’s done the opposite—she’s blossomed into a loving, joyful, and affectionate companion.

Field Trip Fun with Dot! 🐾🌳

Look who went on a little adventure to Roger Williams Park—Dot, our sweet, adorable young Bulldog! Wearing her brand-new Adopt Me vest like a pro, Dot was all wiggles and tail wags as she hopped into the backseat, ready for a field trip full of new sights and smells.

She spotted geese, saw other lucky pups like her on walks too, and took in all the excitement of the park like a seasoned explorer. Her favorite part? Just cruising in the car and later lounging under a shady tree, soaking in the moment. She did wonder why we didn’t pack a picnic, but she was perfectly content chilling out and watching the world go by.
