💕🐾 Remember this fluffy cutie pie? He was reported stray in the beginning of June near Pine Fork Park, Quinton.

Well, NKAP took custody, then we advertised him for a home after his stray hold was up and surprisingly, no one adopted him.

❤️ Enter our foster home HERO! The shelter had named him Ozzy, so we kept it and now Ozzy is residing in a loving foster home.

He went to the vets office yesterday and (while he was a very good boy for all his tests and vaccines), Ozzy tested positive for heart-worms.

He has a very thick gorgeous coat, which we thought may be good protection from mosquito bites and he is young. Still, he tested positive for a totally preventable disease! Please keep your pets on heartworm prevention.

🐾🐾 Sweet little Blackie is now fully vetted and she’s looking for a home or a foster home.

She would make a great indoor kitty or indoor / outdoor, if you wish. She does take about a day to warm up to new people, but once she does, she runs to you for attention and arches up to be petted.

Blackie is very neat and clean with her litter habits.

These gorgeous kitten purr-babies are now available for adoption!

Nugget has less white on her face (female) and Charlie (male) is her brother. Very playful, affectionate and full of purrs! They have been de-wormed twice, are on flea/tick prevention, litter box trained and have their first vaccines.

🐾🦴 Anyone want to take Nova out with them for some fun this weekend? 🐾🦴

📣📣 Nova’s foster mom would love for him to get ‘Out and About’ this weekend.

While we don’t have any adoption events lined up, we are asking folks to grab Nova (in New Kent) and take him to any weekend events - Farmers markets, festivals, a dog park, Colonial Williamsburg, etc, where he’ll get exposure to people (who may be interested in adopting). Nova will wear an Adopt Me harness and leash.

Remember, he needs to find a home with no cats, but he’s good with dogs and he loves children.

We’re looking for people to take him on an outing for this evening, Saturday, or Sunday.

Nova needs us to help him find his perfect new family, his foster mom has a surgery scheduled soon and he needs to be placed.

🐾🐾 Nova’s foster mom would love for him to get ‘Out and About’ this weekend.

🐾🦴 Why has no one adopted this cute doggo yet???

…waiting at the NK AP shelter, 7087 Airport Rd, Quinton…

Male, intact, no collar, chip, or ID, was found stray over a week ago, Pine Fork Rd, Quinton, in the area of Pine Fork Park. No one has called to claim him and he’s been waiting to find his new family.

He’s probably some mix of Border Collie, young adult, friendly. Not sure how he would be with dogs or cats. But please go in to meet him for yourself and you can see how he does in person. Also, be sure to lovingly pet that gorgeous coat of his!

🐔🐔 And there’s an adorable Rooster who needs to get out of the shelter and in to a home! No adoption fee for the Roo.

🐾🐾 Meet Hank! Hank was adopted and returned due to acting ‘like a heeler’ with small children, herding and nipping. He is already neutered, chipped, vaccinated, all he needs is you.

He is so sad, he lost his family and when you spend time with him, he clings to your body with never-ending hugs. 😢❤️

Please go visit him today between 10-4, at NK AP shelter at 7087 Airport Rd, Quinton, and see if he might be your new best friend!

***Update: Gone to Rescue!***

🐾🐾 Cute little Poppy was found stray in Barhamsville a few weeks ago. She was thin and had hair loss in areas. She’s seen the vet and she’s looking so much better. Poppy goes for her re-check tomorrow morning.

🐶🐶 We’d love to get her in to a great home, foster, or a beagle rescue.

Please share this sweet senior beagle to help her get out of the over crowded NK AP shelter and into the beginning of her new life!

They’ve had their first vaccines, been dewormed once, and had a flea treatment. Currently eight weeks old.

💕💕 Posting for Nova:

Nova needs a new home due to his incompatibility with the cats in his current home. We are looking to place him in a well matched home without cats, so even if you are able to foster him, it would help his family so much.

Nova’s family will continue to pay for his pet health insurance for 6 months, provide his food, and his flea/tick and heart-worm preventatives for 6 months.

They know all about Nova and will share everything they know with you to make the transition easy. They really want the absolute best for him. Nova will also come with his crate, bed, and favorite toys.

He started out in foster care with this family, they fell in love with his darling personality and adopted, but after a few more months, he felt so comfortable that his prey drive emerged and it’s now difficult to keep the cats safe.

He is fully vetted and microchipped. He is kind, gentle and loving to all children and adults. Nova has some resource guarding issues with dogs and needs to be fed separately.

He has energy but knows how to relax with you and just enjoy the quiet. He enjoys sleeping in the bedroom with one of the children. He also enjoys walks, runs, and mud, like most young dogs. 😂 He absolutely loves food and will eat almost anything.
