HAVE YOU HUGGED A VET TECH TODAY?

In honor of Veterinary Technician Week, we’re celebrating the skill, compassion, and hard work that veterinary technicians bring to every patient, every client, and every unpredictable day. They are the heartbeat of veterinary medicine, and we couldn’t do what we do without them.

At Rolling Sage Veterinary Unit, that heartbeat belongs to our very own Genna Gabriel!

A year ago, Genna approached me with an idea: “What if we started a mobile ultrasound business?” Naturally, my response was a very professional version of “That sounds slightly terrifying. I’m in.”

Ultrasound is one of our favorite parts of veterinary medicine, and building Rolling Sage Veterinary Unit together has been quite a feat. Her enthusiasm, go-getter spirit, and unwavering “we can figure it out” attitude have helped grow that little idea into more services than we ever imagined.

She also has a unique ability to balance a strong work ethic with the fine art of dilly-dallying. We have things to do and pets to help, but first, we must appreciate this cool knot in a piece of wood, admire a beautiful plant, and tell a particularly excellent rock that it’s doing a great job. She reminds me that there’s always time to notice the little things.

Every day is a grand adventure because Genna shows up as her whole, wonderfully genuine self. Sometimes that self has french fries for teeth. Sometimes she’s convincing a cat that we’re actually pretty cool. Every day, she brings a huge heart and so much love for our patients.

Genna, having you as my vet tech and partner in this adventure is a rare gift. If all goes according to plan, these will be the last jobs we ever have—so I hope you’re prepared to spend several more decades in a vehicle with me.

Here’s to helping the pets and people of Yavapai County for years to come, with plenty of ultrasound gel, laughter, roadside botanical inspections, and emergency french fries along the way.

So please take a moment and thank Genna for her amazing work! And thank you to every vet tech out there, you all are my absolute favorites 💜

Interested in mobile veterinary care, or maybe an ultrasound was recommended, we got you!

In-home or in-clinic abdominal ultrasounds and in-clinic echocardiograms are offered to our community without the need to travel to the Valley.

Just look at this sweet girl! Annie is a poodle mix who is as sweet as they get, greeting us with a wagging tail at her gate! We had the honor pf meeting her and her momma at their home, where vet care is the most comfortable! ❤️
