Our handsome Dallas had his haircut and is looking sharp!

Dallas is in a German or T-Trim and this is an acceptable haircut for the UKC show ring along with many others. We think he wears this especially well.

Anyone else a fan of the German trim?

This is Zoola -- and I know what you are thinking... "Wow, that's not a very pretty haircut.."

And you'd be right. It isn't. Zoola is an elderly girl and no longer gets a "pretty" haircut. She gets a comfort groom these days.

A comfort groom consists of a short, manageable trim where we do as much as we can safely do without stressing the elderly pet. Most often, this means they no longer get blow dried, they fan dry instead, and we skip the "finish" work that takes extra time. It's not as pretty, but it's short and manageable and keeps them comfortable and low-stress while they are here!

How much does a comfort groom cost? A comfort groom is the same as our regular grooming cost because it often takes longer (they need breaks) and often requires a second set of hands to give support and help hold and comfort the elderly pet.

Zoola is such a sweet girl and we are so thankful we get to make her feel her best!

❣️Ruby❣️ came in to see us today. She got a short summer do along with poodle face and feet.

It was so nice to see Ruby again and she is now on our regular schedule with pre-booked 6 week appointments 📆

Looking for ways to keep your dog happy, active, and mentally stimulated during the hot summer months? Try these cool enrichment ideas! 💡🐶

1. Frozen Treat Toys 🍦
Stuff a Kong or puzzle feeder with peanut butter, kibble, yogurt, or fruit — then freeze it! It keeps dogs busy AND cool.

Let your pup splash, dig, or fetch toys in a shallow kiddie pool. Great for water lovers!

3. Sniffari Walks 🌿
Slow, sniffy walks in the early morning or evening stimulate your dog’s brain and prevent overheating.
