Let’s talk about Rabies and the Rabies Vaccine!

We’ve recently seen an increase in clients declining the rabies vaccine due to concerns that it may be the new Nobivac NXT mRNA rabies vaccine. We want to clarify that we do NOT carry the Nobivac NXT rabies vaccine, and to our knowledge it is not currently available for purchase in the United States through our suppliers. We do not carry any mRNA vaccines.

The rabies vaccine we use is the traditional inactivated (killed virus) rabies vaccine that has been safely used for more than 20 years. It is also Thimerosal-free (mercury-free).

Rabies vaccination is legally required for all dogs over 12 weeks of age in Arizona. This vaccine is critical not only for protecting your pet, but also for protecting your family and community. Rabies is a fatal disease that is present in Arizona wildlife.

Recently, on May 4, 2026, a bobcat near Williamson Valley Road attacked several people and pets and later the bobcat tested positive for rabies. Incidents like this highlight the importance of keeping our pets vaccinated and our community protected.
