Mabel is almost four weeks into her FIP treatment! Her foster reports that she’s back to being a full-blown diva again. She’s eating her food and treats, using the litter box like a pro, sleeping on her foster’s bed at night, and following her around the house.

Last month, Mabel was at the ER for four days, had a feeding tube, and was only taking bites from her foster’s fingers. We’re so happy to see her acting like herself again!

We know it’s only been a few weeks since we asked for help with Cub, but we have to ask again. Kitten season has been hard for us, and Mabel’s ER vet bill left us with no choice.

Mabel is a sweet mama cat who raised five kittens in foster care. Last week, she became very sick very fast. She was straining in her litter box (24 trips in one day!), vomiting, and refusing even Churu. After several vet visits, she was hospitalized from Wednesday to Sunday with IV fluids, a feeding tube, an ultrasound, and a biopsy. Her vets believe it’s most likely FIP, and we’re waiting on biopsy results to confirm.

FIP used to be fatal, but since treatment was legalized in 2024, it’s now survivable. Within 24 hours of her first dose, Mabel started eating on her own again. She’s home now, but still has a long road ahead.

Mabel’s ER bill came to $5,049.24, and that’s before her FIP medication and continued care. We’re committed to giving every cat the treatment they need, and we’re also grateful that Mabel’s foster is matching the first $200 in donations.

Cub update!

Cub had his jaw surgery a couple of weeks ago to repair a broken jaw. He’s doing well - eating and recovering - but we’re still waiting on biopsy results from surgery 🙏

We ended up raising $3,035 for Cub, which is more than our goal! Thank you all so much for helping Cub 💕

We did it! Thanks to you, we raised $3,035 for Cub’s surgery and it’s happening tomorrow 🎉

Cub’s been through a lot and tomorrow he finally gets the surgery he needs to fix it. Thank you to everyone who donated and rooted for this sweet boy! We’ll be sending him all the good vibes tomorrow and hopefully share an update once he’s out of surgery 🫶

This Saturday, we’re bringing adoptable kittens back to Western Pet Supply! Come meet NWAC’s adoptable kittens and their foster parents, and find your new best friend.

Applications can be submitted on site, but adoptions will be finalized offsite. See you there!
