🌅🐟 Fishboy’s day started dark and early today… and not just because he enjoys being awake before most sane people. 😆

This morning Fishboy headed out to one of our longest-running commercial service accounts for what was supposed to be a routine aquarium maintenance visit. Before he arrived, they gave him a call to let him know the aquarium light had finally decided it was time for retirement.

So today’s service call turned into a two-for-one special:
✅ Routine aquarium maintenance
✅ Complete lighting upgrade

The old fixture was removed and replaced with a Fluval Plant LED fixture, which is one of the lighting systems we proudly carry right here at Aqua-Mart. The new light has the tank looking brighter, cleaner, and ready to show off the fish the way they deserve.

One of the things Fishboy loves most about maintaining commercial aquariums is helping keep them looking their best for the customers and employees who enjoy them every day. Sometimes that means cleaning glass, sometimes it means replacing equipment, and sometimes it means doing both before most people have had breakfast. 😂

🔧🐟 Well… this wasn’t exactly how Fishboy planned to finish the day.

Just as we were getting ready to close things down, one of the main air pumps that runs filtration on our freshwater system decided it had officially reached retirement age. 😅

The good news? Fishboy has learned over the years that aquarium equipment has a sense of humor, so thankfully we had a spare pump waiting in the back room. After a little ladder climbing, wire untangling, and a few choice words that we definitely can’t post on Facebook, the new pump is up and running and the fish are happy again. 🐠💨

A huge thank you to Corey, who was here for his normal after-hours shift and jumped in to help Fishboy get everything swapped out. Having good people around when equipment decides to throw a tantrum makes life a whole lot easier.

Aquarium ownership lesson of the day: The equipment doesn’t care what time you planned on being done. 😂

🌊🐠 Fishboy has a confession… lately we’ve been showing off a lot of freshwater livestock, but don’t let that fool you—we still have a ton of awesome saltwater fish in stock too!

From tangs and angelfish to gobies, jawfish, tusks, rabbitfish, and plenty more, our saltwater systems are packed with beautiful livestock looking for new homes. These photos are just a small sample of what’s currently swimming around the store.

🍽️ CUSTOMERS LIKE YOU MAKE FISHBOY FEEL SPOILED! 🍽️

One thing Fishboy has learned over the years is that Aqua-Mart customers are some of the most generous people around. Honestly, you guys take way too good care of us.

Today was another perfect example. A huge thank you to Walt and Connie, long-time customers and friends of the store, for bringing Fishboy some absolutely amazing grub for lunch. As you can see, Fishboy was in absolutely no danger of going hungry today! 😂

The truth is, things like this are never expected and never necessary. Your business, your support, and simply choosing to shop with us is more than enough. But time and time again, so many of you go above and beyond for Fishboy and the staff, and it never goes unnoticed.

Whether it’s dropping off lunch, bringing us treats, checking in on us, helping us with projects, or simply supporting a small local business, we’re incredibly grateful for every one of you.

Aqua-Mart has always been more than just a fish store. It’s a community, and we’re lucky to have the best one around.

🐟 Fishboy Started Before Sunrise… and He’s Still Going! 🐟🌊

Fishboy was out on one of our commercial aquarium accounts first thing this morning, making sure everything was looking its best. From there, it was straight onto residential service accounts, and he’s still making the rounds as we speak!

He should be rolling back into Aqua-Mart just in time for opening, and we’ll be ready to welcome everyone from 11 AM to 7 PM today.

The timing couldn’t be better because we’ve had multiple livestock shipments arrive over the last few days, and the store is packed with new freshwater fish, saltwater fish, plants, invertebrates, and plenty of other aquatic goodies waiting for their new homes.

🔥 PEACOCK ALERT! PEACOCK ALERT! 🔥

Fishboy thought the first fish order was impressive… then the second order rolled in and dropped off roughly 75 MORE Aulonocara Peacock Cichlids! 😳🐟

If you’re an African Cichlid fan, this is the kind of shipment that makes you suddenly “need just one more tank.” (We’ve heard that excuse before… and we fully support it. 😂)

Fishboy may have unpacked a lot of fish today, but these gorgeous Female Bettas walked in and immediately started acting like they owned the place. 😆

From stunning koi patterns to beautiful marble, galaxy, and candy-colored varieties, these ladies are absolute showstoppers! Each one has its own unique colors and personality, which makes them perfect for anyone looking for a centerpiece fish with a little extra flair.

💡 Thinking about a Betta Sorority?
Female Bettas can sometimes be kept together in a properly planned and heavily planted aquarium with plenty of space and hiding spots. A sorority setup isn’t for every hobbyist, but when done correctly, it can create a truly eye-catching display!

⚠️ As always, do your research first—every Betta has its own attitude, and some of these ladies definitely seem to have opinions. 😂
