Low Rider Dachshund Rescue of Florida

LRDRFL is a Dachshund and small dog 501c3 rescue located on Florida's west coast, serving all of FL.

In 2017 "We began as a group of women who had known each other for several years and love the dachshund breed. We all had dachshunds of our own and have been fosters for many years. We began fulfilling our dream by starting a rescue for less fortunate dachshunds than our own, who have either been neglected, mistreated or given up for any other reason that makes these animals homeless. We strive to get them the medical treatment they need, excellent foster care, and ultimately finding the best "forever" home where they will be loved for the rest of their lives.

💡🐾Adoptable Dog Spotlight!🐾💡

🌟 Meet Dixie! 🌟

Dixie is a 6-year-old, 15 lb. dachshund with the sweetest face and the most loyal heart. 🧡 Personally I love those big brown eyes!

Once she trusts you, she’s your little shadow and doesn’t like to let you out of her sight. She loves car rides (safely buckled in her harness 🚗), happily goes into her crate for a treat, and handles thunder and loud noises with no worries.

Dixie has been through a lot but is getting stronger every day! After major back surgery for IVDD, she has spent the past year in foster care, and she’s made real progress. 💪

‼️This sweet girl does have some remaining needs due to her IVDD so please read her profile carefully!‼️

Dixie is shy with new people and dogs at first and may bark nervously until she feels safe. Her perfect match is a patient, committed adopter who’s comfortable with daily care and ready to be her whole world.

Here’s an added bonus: her foster has offered FREE pet sitting for Dixie for life! 😅💕

Happy Tails, Slim Jim & Chunky! 💛💙

These two 8-year-old best buds have spent their entire lives together, so finding a home with room for both of them was our top priority.

In foster care, they proved to be happy, easygoing gentlemen with excellent leash manners, a love of car rides, and a friendly hello for everyone they met. Their foster couldn't say enough good things about them. 🚗

We can't decide who's luckier, these boys or their new Mom!
As we've said before, double the doxie, double the fun!🐾

Welcome home, Slim Jim & Chunky! 🏡
