🚨 Urgent Help Needed 🚨

Our local shelter in DeSoto County is full to the brim and desperately needs our help.

Unfortunately, there is no space left to house the animals continuing to come in, and these dogs need somewhere to go. Time is running out.

Here at Homeward Bound Hounds, we are completely full ourselves and unable to take in any additional dogs, but we couldn’t stand by without trying to help our local shelter in a time of need.

If you see a dog you would like to adopt, please reach out to us immediately. These dogs need commitments by Sunday evening at the latest.

*DCAS is closed to the public for the remainder of the weekend but we can help organize rescue pulls for serious adopters.*

There’s nothing we love more than seeing our rescues flourish in their forever homes. ❤️

It’s safe to say this sweet girl has adjusted just fine and is loving all the comfy places she gets to curl up in.

Honey 🍯 was surrendered to us, her fur stained yellow from lying in a p*e soaked cage, because she would not take to hunting like “the other dogs”. Can you believe they were going to “take care of her the old fashioned way”? 😭

We’re very thankful to have been part of your journey and are extremely grateful to your family (and sister GSP Sadie) for giving you the best home 🏡

The dogs pictured are all still searching for their forever homes. Many of them have been with us well over 6 months +, watching other dogs come and go with their new families while they continue waiting for their turn. We keep telling them their people are out there… help us prove that we’re right. 🐾

As Memorial Day Weekend winds down and we head back to business as usual this week, we also wanted to take a moment to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Sometimes sending them off to their new homes is the hardest part, but it is certainly the most rewarding.

Mudd, this year old GSP mix was recently neutered and let’s just say he’s taking it like a champ. From the second we picked him up from his appointment he was all smiles and tail wags.

The only thing he’s missing now is his forever home 🏡

These two look like they came straight off a toy store shelf. They’re tiny, fluffy, and cute as can be.

Don’t let their little size fool you though… they are absolutely overflowing with love, personality, and puppy energy. Whether they’re soaking up attention, following you around the house, or going on little adventures in the yard, these two are always ready to make you smile.

At just 14 months old, they both have their whole lives ahead of them and are looking for their forever family to spend it with. They have been together since they were young puppies and it is imperative that they stay together.

This 9 month old GSP girly is ready to steal your heart and your blankets 🤪

Luna is exactly what you’d expect out of a 9 month old GSP. Shes full of energy and love. She gets along great with other dogs and loves snuggle time with her humans.

She is on the smaller side, right around 40 pounds. She is house trained and knows basic commands. She is ready to thrive in her forever home ❤️

Meet Mudd 🐶

This year old male GSP mix has a big head and a big heart ❤️

He is shy at first when meeting new people but is a happy and loving boy once he realizes you’re a safe human. He is well mannered and gets along great with the other dogs in our care.

Unfortunately most of this sweet boys past is unknown but what is clear is that he was not getting the care he deserved. Before being turned over to animal control he was found wandering in a rural area and ended up on someone’s farm to say hello to their dogs.

He is potty trained and crate trained. He is heartworm + but treatment has been started and is fully covered.
