Better Together Animal Alliance (formerly Panhandle Animal Shelter) is dedicated to serving the animals of North Idaho. URGENT COMMUNITY HELP NEEDED

This litter of puppies & their mama need urgent care and we want to help them find a foster IMMEDIATELY! Both Priest River Animal Rescue and BTAA are full to the brim with dogs so we desperately need community members to help us out!

The Sunset Wildfire has prompted evacuations in part of Bonner County and a temporary shelter is being provided by the Red Cross at Sagle Elementary School. BTAA has been in direct contact with the Red Cross and is assisting in those efforts to keep families and their pets together during this time.

Who's up for a game of fetch - as in fetch your new best friend?!?

BTAA has quite a few canine companions ready to trade kennel life for snuggles and walks in the park so our adoption fees have been sponsored through Saturday. That's right - no fees for dog adoptions now through Saturday!

Our Animal Care Center is open today, tomorrow, and Saturday from 12pm - 4:30pm for visits in person but you can always checkout the list of our adoptable dogs online: https://bit.ly/46FeHBp 🐾💙

When these puppies arrived last week, we knew we needed some additional hands and hearts to help socialize them and boy did our community show up in the best ways!

A huge THANK YOU to those of you who have come by to hang out in the yards with them and to our incredible dog walker volunteers who get them out for leash training. They've made wonderful leaps and bounds but their journey isn’t over yet. These puppies still need consistent care, socialization, and support as they prepare for adoption.

If you haven’t had the chance to join in yet (or want to come back for another visit!) there’s still time to make a difference. Your kindness today helps shape the companions they’ll be tomorrow. 🐾💙

Just look at that smile on her face - and we're not talking just about the puppy! 😍

These sweet humans were the first to adopt one of the Wilderness Puppies and lucky Mistral found her new home over the weekend! One of the other females was also adopted and we are so excited for all their new adventures!

Panhandle Animal Shelter is committed to helping the animals and people of North Idaho. We believe in supporting the animal family with low cost spay and neuter options, rehoming options through Home-Home.org, Trap-Neuter-Release for Community Cats and much more. Providing our animals with love, support, medical care and compassion while finding them forever homes. We also work to reunite lost animals with their owners. Our hours are 7 days a week 12pm to 4:30 pm. We look forward to your visit.
