PET MICROCHIP NOTICE: The “Save This Life” brand of pet microchip is no longer included in the universal microchip registry. If your pet has a “Save This Life” microchip registered ONLY with that company, you’ll need to register it elsewhere to ensure it’s in the universal database through American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). You can check where your pet’s microchip is registered at AAHA’s microchip search.

Many shelters, vets, and rescues will scan pets for free if you don’t have your pet’s chip number recorded.

Here are some other microchip registration options for you if your pet was ONLY registered through “Save This Life”:

Pet owners should also be cautious of an EMAIL scam targeting pet microchip registrations. Scammers may send emails that appear to come from reputable microchipping companies, falsely claiming that your pet’s microchip registration is about to expire and requires a fee for renewal, but that is a scam—pet microchip registrations are for life and do not expire.
