Happy National Cat Day 🐈🧡 There's so much these creatures can teach us, if we just take the time to notice.

When the clock says one thing, but your pet says differently...

Pets experience the fall time change too, but unlike us, they don't understand what's happening. Their routines aren't run by a clock, they're run by light, habit, hunger, sleep, and your behavior.

A few ways to help them adjust:

🐾 If you have a pet who's convinced you're starving them, split the difference: feed a small meal at their usual time, then the rest at the new ""normal"" time. Shift the full meal time by 10-15 minutes each day until you land on the new schedule.

🐾 Walks work the same way, you don't need to force the new time if your dog is struggling with the change. If your dog's used to a 6pm walk, it's fine to walk them a little earlier for now (following their internal clock) and shift the time by 10-15 minutes each day until you land on the new schedule.

🐾Light drives a lot of their rhythm, so if your pet naps or winds down based on when it gets dark, expect some grogginess or extra zoomies the first few days. Longer walks and enrichment can help your pet get some of their big feelings out.

That tail's talking! Here are some common ways cats express their emotions using their tails 😻

This is the kind of thing our team always pays attention to. A puffed tail, a low tuck, a slow swish, it all tells us how your cat is feeling in the moment.

Your cat doesn't have to perform ""friendly"" for a stranger while you're away. We just read the room (or the tail) and go from there.

Fall is often everyone's favorite hiking season, so we figured we'd share a few close-by trails.

These trails still bring fall vibes and give your dog plenty of enrichment while still being close to home.

What’s your favorite trail? Let us know in the comments! 🍂🐾

I spent the last weekend at a great conference for pet care professionals in North Carolina. Lots of learning and lots of fun!

We take "she likes her water bowl at exactly 2/3 full" as seriously as you do. Every note gets followed to the letter, because your cat's routine matters just as much on vacation week as it does every other day.
