Safety tips for water dogs 🐶 Swimming is a great low impact work out for people and pets, but safety comes first. Don't forget to dry your pets ears thoroughly after a good swim to help prevent ear infections 🫧

🌊 Pet Water Safety Tips for Summer Fun! 🐾

Planning lake days, beach trips, or pool parties with your pet? Keep them safe around water with these simple tips:

🐕 Not All Dogs Can Swim
Some breeds aren’t natural swimmers. Always supervise and consider a pet life jacket—especially for boating or deep water.

🛟 Use Pet Life Vests
Life vests add an extra layer of safety—even for strong swimmers! Make sure it fits snugly and has a handle for quick lifting.

🚫 No Drinking Pool or Lake Water
Chlorine, salt, or bacteria can upset their stomach or cause illness. Bring fresh water and offer it often.

🌡️ Watch for Fatigue or Overheating
Swimming is tiring! Take breaks in the shade, and keep an eye out for heavy panting or weakness.

🚿 Rinse After Swimming
Rinse off salt, chlorine, or lake debris to protect their skin and coat.

🐍 Stay Alert Near Natural Water
Be cautious of wildlife like snakes or alligators near lakes and rivers.

Summer splashes are more fun when everyone stays safe! 🐶💦 Have questions about summer pet care? Give us a call!

The dog days of summer are here ☀️ Keep your pets safe during this weekend's heat wave. Temperatures are expected to be in the 90s in Po***ck Pines and the 100s in Placerville this Saturday and Sunday🌡

Hot Pavement = Burnt Paws

Summer heat isn’t just uncomfortable — it can hurt your pets. Pavement, asphalt, sand, and even truck beds can reach scorching temps that burn your pet's paws in seconds.

- If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws!
- Test the surface with the back of your hand for 7 seconds.
- Walk early in the morning or late evening.
- Stick to grass and shaded paths.
- Keep paw balm or booties handy.

Let’s keep those paws safe all summer long!

Cat naps can be very healthy 😴 but it is always important to pay attention to your specific pet's behaviors. Contact your local vet right away if you notice unusual sleeping patterns as they can be a sign of underlying health issues ❤️‍🩹

Cats are known for their love of sleep, often snoozing 12 to 16 hours a day 🐱 But if your cat is sleeping more than usual or showing changes in their sleep habits, it could be a sign of an underlying issue.

Routine vet checkups help catch concerns early and keep your cat feeling their best.

UPDATE: REUNITED!!! 🥰

Lost unfixed male dog wondered into our parking lot today around noon. We scanned him, but there was no microchip. No collar either. He is very friendly, and clearly someone's pet. He is gentle when taking treats, and even knows some basic commands. We have him here for now, but we will have to call animal control to come pick him up if we don't hear from his owner. If you recognize this dog, please call our office at 5306445421. Thank you, everyone!
