Community Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal veterinary hospital, located in the heart of Pocatello, Idaho. We offer high-quality and compassionate veterinary medicine, surgery, dentistry, boarding, and emergency services to our community’s companion animals. We treat dogs, cats, birds, small mammals, and small ruminants.

Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight (continued..): Devoh!

Although Devoh has only been part of our team since the beginning of October, he has already made such a wonderful impression. He has jumped right in, picked up new skills so quickly, and fit in with our team like he’s been here much longer. We couldn’t be happier to have him as part of our CAH team!

Devoh is working hard to strengthen his skills on the floor, with the hope of possibly pursuing veterinary school one day. We are so excited to be part of his journey and to help support and encourage him as he explores his future in veterinary medicine. Watching team members grow, learn, and chase their dreams is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do!

And, of course, we can’t forget one of Devoh’s most valuable assets: his height! 😂 Our hospital may have a cozy footprint, but we make up for it by utilizing every inch of vertical space possible. Thankfully, Devoh is always ready to help us reach those just a little too high shelves. Every team needs someone who can lend a hand.. or an extra few feet!

Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight: Laurie! 🐾

Today, we’re excited to shine a little extra love on Laurie! Although she’s still a newer face at Community Animal Hospital, she has already made such a wonderful impression on our team.

Laurie first joined us at the beginning of August for her Penn Foster externship as she works toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT). We were so happy to officially welcome her to the team at the end of September, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her with us!

Laurie has an incredible work ethic and truly goes above and beyond to keep our hospital shining and make sure we’re ready to start each day on the right foot. She is always finding something to do, takes pride in her work, and brings such a calm, steady presence to the team.

But Laurie’s big heart doesn’t stop at the clinic doors! ❤️ She also adopted one of our three-legged foster projects, affectionately known as “Yard-Stick” (get it? He only has three feet! 😂). He has officially found his forever home with Laurie and her family, and he’s now living his best life as Bruce! We couldn’t be happier that this sweet boy found such a wonderful family.

We feel incredibly lucky to be a part of Laurie’s journey through her externship and to continue supporting her as she completes her licensing. We know she has so much knowledge and talent to bring to our team, and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she accomplishes!

Laurie, thank you for your hard work, your calm presence, your compassionate heart, and the care you put into everything you do. We’re so happy you’re part of our CAH team!

Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight: Tori!

Tori joined our team at the beginning of June, and we truly couldn’t be luckier to have him. He brings years of veterinary experience and knowledge to our Hospital, but it’s the heart, humor and joy he brings every single day that have made such a lasting impact on our team.

Tori has been the light we didn’t even know we needed! He has this incredible ability to connect with every person on our team and create an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and safe. You could know Tori for all of five minutes and somehow find yourself sharing your entire life story with him! 😂 He has a special gift for making people feel seen, heard, and cared for and that is something truly special.

His compassion extends to our clients, too. Whether someone needs a little extra help, has questions, or just needs someone willing to take the time to listen, Tori is always ready to go above and beyond. He works hard to keep our schedule flowing smoothly and make sure our patients get the care they need as soon as possible. His dedication to our clients, patients, and team does not go unnoticed!

Tori has some exceptional garndening skills and hope he can help us tame our garden, which is currently crying out for a little extra love and attention. We have a feeling our flower beds are about to become his next patients! 🌻

Tori, thank you for choosing us! In such a short amount of time, you have made the biggest difference to our team, and we are so grateful you’re here. Thank you for bringing your experience, your kindness, your laughter, and your whole wonderful self to Community Animal Hospital. Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight: Alyssa!

Today, we’re celebrating Alyssa, who has been part of our Community Animal Hospital family for almost FIVE YEARS! 🐾

Alyssa started as one of the friendly faces welcoming our clients at the front desk, but her passion for patient care sparked a desire to grow into a technician role. And honestly, no matter where she is in the hospital, Alyssa shines! ✨ She has an incredible knack for problem-solving, keeping things running smoothly, and stepping up when leadership isn’t in the building. She’s the kind of person you can count on to figure things out, lend a hand, and keep our team moving forward.

Alyssa recently welcomed her first little one into the world, and while we’re SO happy for her and this exciting new chapter, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t miss seeing her around the hospital as often! At CAH, we believe family comes first, always. We’re proud to be a team that supports our people through all of life’s big moments, and we will always do our best to make room for what matters most.

Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight: Oaklee!

Today, we’re celebrating Oaklee! 🐾

Oaklee has been part of our team since late 2022, and we are so thankful she found her way to Community Animal Hospital! Before we knew it, she had moved into a technician role and is such a valuable part of our team!

One of the things we appreciate most about Oaklee is how dependable she is. She’s someone our entire team can count on, whether it’s stepping up when things get busy and making sure everything is operating smoothly. That kind of dedication means more than words can say, and our team and patients are better because of her.

Oaklee has a funny habit of telling us she’s leaving, only to decide she loves us too much to go. 😂 We’ve been lucky to keep her around! But this time, she might just have a good reason to leave us… she recently started the respiratory program at ISU! While we’re incredibly proud of her and excited to see her pursue this next chapter, we may soon have to share her with the world of human medicine.

Oaklee, we will be so sad when the day comes that you trade your veterinary scrubs for a future in human medicine, but we couldn’t be prouder of you! Until then, we’re going to soak up every moment we have with you and continue to be grateful for the incredible care you give our patients every day. Thank you for being such a dependable, caring, and valued part of our CAH team. We’re cheering you on every step of the way! 🩺

Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight: Bree! 🐾

Today, we’re celebrating Bree! Bree joined our team in early 2023 after completing her veterinary assistant externship with us, and we quickly realized we just couldn’t let her go! We’re so thankful she chose to make Community Animal Hospital her home. ❤️

Bree wears so many hats around our hospital! She’s our resident OSHA Safety Officer, always looking out for the safety of our team, and she helps keep our hospital in tip-top shape by overseeing maintenance and daily chores. She’s also always ready to step in and cover for a teammate, share a new idea, or help us find ways to improve our protocols. Her willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed is just one of the many reasons she’s such an invaluable part of our team.

But Bree’s caring heart doesn’t stop with her coworkers! She goes above and beyond to make sure every client who walks through our doors feels welcomed and cared for. She understands that a trip to the vet can sometimes be stressful, and she takes the time to help our patients feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Those little extra touches can make such a big difference for both pets and their people, and Bree brings that thoughtfulness to everything she does.

Beyond all the hats she wears, Bree brings something truly special to our hospital: warmth, kindness, and a genuine care for the people around her. She makes a point to ensure everyone feels seen, heard, and supported, and that kind of heart makes all the difference in a team.

Outside of the clinic, Bree has two perfect pups, including one very special pup who happens to be missing an eye! 👁️ (Because a little imperfection just makes them that much more perfect, right?)

Bree, we are so incredibly lucky to have you on our team! Thank you for your dedication, your compassion, your willingness to always lend a hand, and the kindness you share with our team, our clients, and their beloved pets. Staff Appreciation Week Spotlight: 𝐊𝐨𝐝𝐢! 🐾

Today, we’re shining a little extra love on Kodi, who has been an incredible part of our team since 2022! From the moment she joined us, she has been such a perfect fit, and we truly can’t imagine our team without her.

Kodi made the transition from human nursing to veterinary medicine because, well… humans are gross! 😂🐶 And we’re certainly glad she made the switch!

Kodi started with us as a veterinary assistant and has grown into our amazing Floor Lead. She plays such an important role in keeping our hospital running smoothly, training new team members, improving protocols, and, of course, being one of your pets’ absolute favorite people!

Although Kodi doesn’t have any pets of her own right now, she always says it just means she gets to pour ALL of her love into her patients. And trust us, those patients are getting a whole lot of love! ❤️

Kodi is hardworking, dedicated, and always willing to go the extra mile. Whether that means staying late for an emergency surgery or stepping in wherever she’s needed, she never hesitates to show up for her patients and her team. Her kindness, warmth, and compassionate heart make a difference every single day, both for the animals in our care and the people lucky enough to work alongside her.

Kodi, thank you for everything you bring to Community Animal Hospital. Your dedication, your big heart, and your willingness to give so much of yourself do not go unnoticed. We are so grateful you chose veterinary medicine (and us!), and we’re pretty sure your patients would agree that you’re exactly where you belong!
