🐾 Meet [Roxy Leòn] — A Survivor Looking for Her Forever Home 🐾
Some dogs have a story so heartbreaking and inspiring, it deserves to be told. This beautiful female Siberian Husky was born right here in Idaho — but her early years were nothing like the happy, playful life she deserved.
Instead of being cherished as a family member, she was used almost entirely for breeding. Bought as a “gift” for children who soon lost interest, she spent most of her life chained up in a front yard — through Idaho’s scorching summers and long, harsh winters.
For years, she endured neglect. She went hungry — sometimes surviving only by catching mice that wandered too close. She suffered through seven pregnancies in her lifetime, many unplanned, some from unwanted encounters with stray dogs. Her puppies were sold off, given away, or, tragically, didn’t survive.
The chain she was tethered to for years cut into her skin, and eventually her body grew around it — making removal painful and requiring surgery. Despite all of this, she never lost her gentle spirit.
When I learned about her suffering, I couldn’t turn away. She was pregnant again when I rescued her. With the help of a local volunteer animal rescue, Aiding 2 Adoption Rescue, we got her the medical care she desperately needed. She safely delivered her puppies, recovered from surgery to remove the embedded collar, and was spayed so she’ll never have to endure another pregnancy.
Today, she’s healthier, happier, and ready for a second chance. She loves “talking” to neighbor dogs, enjoys her walks (though she’s still learning leash manners — she’s a strong husky girl!), and adores any moment of kindness and attention she can get.
She’s been through the worst, yet her heart is still open. She needs a loving, patient family who understands Huskies, has the space for her to run, and the time to give her the life she’s been denied for so long.
