Attention customers:
We have noticed around this time of year fleas become much much worse, as fleas begin looking for a warm host to survive on.
So with that being said we are doing our very best to flea treat the shop. We flea bomb once every other week as well as spraying an all natural flea and tick product to kill and repel at the start and end of our day.
We do ask if you are aware your pet has fleas to make us aware as soon as possible, so we can make sure we can accommodate getting the pet into the tub right away to kill the fleas and to not allow them to spread in our shop.
If your pet is infested and they aren't treated with any flea preventative, we do have the right to refuse service until treated to combat the majority of the infestation.
You may ask why your pet does have fleas even though they're flea treated, around this time it isn't unheard of for your pet to have a few fleas it doesn't necessarily mean that the flea preventative isn't working it just may mean there are just that many desperate fleas looking for a host. Once they bite your pet they will ingest the pesticides and die.
Some dogs can also have an allergic reaction to flea bites typically noticed on the base of the tail. That is commonly called flea dermatitis. If you noticed this it is best to talk to your vet depending on the severity of the allergy will determine the course of action from your vet.
Sincerely the Pawtopia team🐾❤️
