🐾 Pardon Our Dust – We’re Remodeling! 🐾

While we’re busy making our clinic even better for you and your pets, things are a little extra hectic behind the scenes.
We kindly ask for 48 hours to process and approve all prescription requests during this time.

Thank you for your patience as we turn our “construction zone” into an even more pawsome place for care! 🐶🐱💙

With wildfire smoke creating poor air quality across parts of the Midwest, East Coast, and New England in recent days and expected in the days to come, the AVMA is reminding the public that wildfire smoke can pose serious health risks not only to people, but to pets and livestock as well.

Smoke from wildfires contains fine particles that can cause respiratory issues in animals, especially those with pre-existing heart or lung disease. Pet owners should keep a close eye on their animals during poor air quality events and contact their veterinarian if any of the following signs appear. Learn more: https://bit.ly/454IJ0w

Just a friendly reminder that effective August 1, 2025, we will no longer be processing prescription requests through third-party online pharmacies such as Chewy or 1-800-PetMeds.

Going forward, we will only approve online prescription requests through our trusted pharmacy platform:

If you prefer to use a different pharmacy, we’re happy to provide you with a written prescription that can be picked up from our clinic and submitted by you to the pharmacy of your choice.

Why the change? Our goal is to ensure your pet receives safe, effective, and properly handled medications—with fewer delays and errors. Plus, purchases made through our online pharmacy directly support our clinic and team, rather than big-box retailers.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue to provide the highest level of care for you and your pets!

Bentley came in today for her wellness exam with Dr. Miller. Her mom brought her a present, which included a new toy to help lower her stress during the exam. She carried her toy, which is her emotional support object, in her mouth for the entire visit today and didn’t let it go 🦝💕

What kind of things help lower your pets anxiety?

Valued Clients:

Your pet’s health, and wellbeing, is our top priority. We understand that convenience and cost are important when it comes to caring for your pet, and we want to ensure you have all the information needed to make informed decisions.
While third-party pharmacies like Chewy, Amazon and 1-800-PetMeds may be used, we’d like to share why we strongly encourage using our in-clinic pharmacy or our approved online pharmacy through Vetcove:
• Product Integrity: We cannot verify the storage, handling, or sourcing of medications from outside pharmacies, which may impact their safety and effectiveness.
• Prescription Errors: We frequently encounter delays, miscommunications, and incorrect prescription fulfillment when working with third-party pharmacies. We no longer have the ability to communicate directly with these pharmacies to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Limited Oversight: These providers often operate without collaboration with our medical team, increasing the risk of medication-related errors. Again, we no longer have the ability to communicate directly with these pharmacies to ensure prescription accuracy.
• No Manufacturer Guarantees: Many veterinary product manufacturers do not honor guarantees or rebates for products purchased through unauthorized sellers.
• Supports Our Clinic: When you use our online pharmacy, a portion of the proceeds goes directly back to our clinic—helping support our staff, facilities, and continued high-quality care for your pets. Purchases through big-box retailers do not provide this same benefit. You will find our prices to be highly competitive!
To maintain the highest standards of safety and service, effective August 1, 2025, we will no longer process prescription requests through any online pharmacy except our own approved platform through Vetcove.
If you choose to use a different pharmacy after that date, you will need to request and pick up a written prescription from our clinic and submit it to the pharmacy of your choice. We request that you allow at least 48-72 hours for a written prescription to be processed for pickup.
For your convenience, our approved online pharmacy is available at:
https://shop.oakviewvet.net/pet/

We appreciate your understanding and continued trust in our team. If you have any questions or would like assistance with our online pharmacy, we’re happy to help. We have a dedicated staff who can assist in getting you setup!
Best Regards,
Oakview Veterinary Medical Center
