Surrenders by APPOINTMENT ONLY call 609-485-2345. The Atlantic County Animal Shelter has a wide selection of purebred cats and dogs. When looking for a specific breed to adopt, please visit the shelter and meet with one of our adoption counselors to assist with

your search. Adoption Fees:
The following fees currently apply to the adoption of animals. Puppies and Dogs: $110.00
Fee includes vaccinations for rabies and distemper, spay or neuter, microchip, fecal test, deworming, Heartworm cite test if appropriate, and a leash. Kittens and Cats: $85.00 Additional Cat or Kitten $42.50
Fee includes vaccinations for rabies and feline distemper, spay or neuter, microchip, fecal test, deworming, feline leukemia/FIV cite test, and a cardboard carrier. The following are also available for an additional fee:
HOME AGAIN Chip when reclaiming a lost pet: $20.00
I.D. Tag: $6.00

Summer is quickly coming to an end and many of our shelter friends are still waiting for a new home! Come visit and meet our adoptable companions. All of our dogs and cats go home spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to give plenty of unconditional love!

As part of an ongoing partnership between the Arc of Atlantic County and the Atlantic County Animal Shelter,
Tiffany the Pittie went to work on her social and obedience skills with the individuals at the Arc’s Day Program.
She shared her abundance of love and affection with everyone she met.
The individuals worked with Tiffany on basic obedience training, such as sit and stay.
This partnership benefits both the individuals as well as the animals involved.

The Atlantic County Animal Shelter would like to sincerely thank everyone who came out for our annual Clear The Shelter event last weekend! Because of our amazing community, dozens of dogs and cats are out of the shelter and on their way to their new furrever homes! We also want to thank our hard working shelter staff and Volunteers for always advocating for our animals, and keeping them clean, safe, and happy. The Atlantic County Animal Shelter has partnered with the Arc of Atlantic County Adult Day Habilitation program to create volunteer opportunities for their participants. Program participants visit the Animal Shelter to help socialize dogs and cats, teach basic obedience, and create cat & dog enrichment items & toys.
Our Volunteer Coordinator also takes animals to the Arc facility to visit with program participants.

Our Animal Shelter Volunteers have the pleasure of spending quality time with our adoptable dogs and cats, and of taking them to local events to show what amazing pets they are! Here, our Volunteer Coordinator and Volunteers, have some of our favorite shelter animals on an outing to PetSmart in Somers Point, which they do a couple times a month.
