Meet Ozzy! He's been in the city's care for almost a month. Ozzy came to us very sick, testing positive for parvo! 🤮 He's made it thru treatment and is now off his required isolation/quarantine. Today is the 1st time he's been outside with us! He's a little timid of everything. Ozzy is probably 10-12 weeks old. Tiny alligator teeth, with matching claws. Lots of energy and could potentially p**p anywhere. What I'm saying is, Ozzy is the perfect dog! He's just a baby and gives lots of loves! Good afternoon! I just wanted to touch base regarding a news story airing today!

There was a huge situation in southern MO, a breeder who was allegedly abusing dogs. A warrant was issued to confiscate the dogs. A local RESCUE, not our city shelter, went to pick up these dogs. Our shelter provided SPACE. Pleasant Hill Animal Clinic came to the shelter and triage dogs. Doc made a determination on where dogs should go. Some are medical, some just need some vaccinations and will head to their foster home! We are so fortunate to have this building, and are 100% using every square foot of it as much as we can! Pictured is a tub of 1 week old puppies!

I wanted to get in front of this, so no one would think our city resources are being used for other communities! Have a great week!

Misunderstood dogs are kind of our jam around here! Billy, for instance loves so hard, he has no idea he weighs almost 90 #. He's not dog friendly. I personally wouldn't have him around small kids because he's completely size blind! If Billy has anything to say, he's going to say it, LOUDLY. Do I love him? Absolutely! This is Pawpaw. He's an older guy. Ppl are terrified of him because he does act like he's having a psychotic break when strangers approach his kennel. He knows me and doesn't act like that, at all. He's a good sized dog. Once introduced and he knows you're the boss, he's really a good boy! He plays fetch. I literally have 2 balls, he brings one then you throw the other before he even drops the first. He does jump on ppl. So we're back to the no small kids and probably think hard about elderly. Oh, look. Here's Noah. Still. Noah is so sweet. He just makes it sooo hard! You have to be willing to meet him a couple of times before he trusts you. He is not a fan of about 99.9999% of men. He's not aggressive, he just stays away from them. He's around 25 #. He's approximately 2 years old. Super young and active. Thinks he's a tough guy when other dogs walk by his kennel. No one has told him he's so little. Noah is an awesome dog, for just the right ppl! Even when he's uncomfortable, he doesn't show aggression, just shyness. Little dude with tons of energy! Just ignore the crazy lady in the background talking! 🤣 This is Frankie! Frankie left us as a puppy. His owner has fallen ill and will no longer be able to care for this kid! Frankie is very sweet, has no manners, but is 100% capable of learning them. He's a very good boy. Frankie will be 2 in July. He is a little fluffy. Remember, we don't judge over here!
