*** Here Are Some Helpful Hints***
Good morning! Did you know that the BEST DEFENSE AGAINST a VIRUS is YOUR OWN IMMUNE SYSTEM? Choose fresh or frozen (I've seen this section of most grocery stores packed full!)
-Citrus fruits like grapefruit, oranges, lemons, limes (Vitamin C)
-Red bell peppers (even more vitamin C than citrus fruits!)
-Broccoli (loaded with vitamins and minerals)
-Spinach
-Bananas
-Kiwi (Vitamin C)
-Blueberries (one of our faves, loaded with antioxidants! Also gut healing)
-Sweet Potatoes (anti-inflammatory, boosts immunity and good for lung function!)
-Tomatoes (vitamin C, ALL MEN should eat tomatoes as they're good for the prostate)
-Apples (fiber, antioxidants)
-Mushrooms
-Yogurt (plain greek, watch for added sugars, probiotics)
-Almonds
-Sunflower seeds
-Walnuts (If you have trouble sleeping, grab a very small handful of walnuts before bedtime, they can help boost melatonin for better sleep)
-Bone broth (POWER food!) *Has to be organic, a lot of non-organics add MSG
-Wild caught salmon (great source of immune boosting Zinc)
-Light white tuna (also great source of immune boosting Zinc)
-Eggs (preferably free-range, another power food packed with immune boosting nutrients)
-Garlic (Antiviral, antibacterial)
-Ginger (great for combating nausea, also immune boosting)
-Turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
-Basil (can help reduce stress)
-Rosemary (Antioxidant)
-Oregano (Antiviral, antibacterial
-Fennel
-Thyme (Boosts immunity, relieves stress, antioxidant)
-Honey (preferably raw, great with warm lemon water to soothe a sore or scratchy throat)
-Olive oil
-Dark chocolate (hell yeah!) (True dark chocolate that's 70% or higher in cocao is best)
-WATER (water is so important! Water does MANY wonderful things for the body, one of them being flushing toxins!) Aim for 7-8, 8 ounce glasses per day. If you don't drink even close to that you have to start small, 2-3 glasses per day and work your way up)
-EXERCISE (WALKING 30 per day will help boost your immune system and your MOOD!)
-SLEEP (7-9 hours per night)
