🐾 Havoc absolutely knocked his temperament testing out of the park! 💙
Havoc completed his Volhard temperament evaluation yesterday and his PAT testing today, and we couldn’t be happier with what we saw from this boy.
It’s funny how often the black tris get passed over when everyone’s eyes immediately go to the flashy merles; but this is exactly why we encourage families to look beyond color and focus on the puppy underneath it. When it comes to personality, Havoc has been one of our favorites from the beginning 🖤🤎🤍
His testing showed so many of the qualities we love to see: high confidence, strong nerve strength, high human focus, low prey drive, low sound and sight sensitivity, a gentle/tenderhearted nature, and a naturally low energy level. His PAT results came back with a 94% potential match for therapy work, and the trainer commented for therapy work potential during his Volhard testing; his evaluation supports moving forward with him as a potential Therapy Dog prospect! 🥹👏
What makes us especially proud is that temperament isn't just about genetics. How a puppy is raised during those first 8 weeks matters tremendously. The experiences we give them from day one: the handling, socialization, confidence building, exposure to new sights, sounds, surfaces and situations, learning to engage with people, and developing the ability to settle; all help build the foundation they take with them into adulthood.
We can give them that foundation, but ultimately, the puppy shows us who they are.
And Havoc showed us something pretty special. 💙
This sweet, confident, people-focused boy genuinely just wants to be with his person. Whether his future ultimately leads him into therapy work or simply to being an incredible companion for his family, we are SO excited to see where Havoc goes from here in his new home.
Sometimes the puppy people overlook because of color ends up being the puppy with everything they were actually looking for. 🐾❤️
