On August 15th & 16th Tom's Toys in Great Barrington hosted an adorable event to raise funds for Berkshire Humane Society. They held their first "Stuffed Animal Adoption" where "adopters" could choose a new snuggly pet from their sidewalk adoption and 50% of the proceeds from Douglas Plush Sales would be donated to the shelter. Tom's Toys provided carriers & collars that could be decorated for the pets, along with raffles, face painting and more! As you can see by the smiles, it was a fun day for all and they were able to raise $675 for the shelter! We thank Tom's Toys for thinking of us and to all their patrons who adopted a stuffie.

Ruby was featured on Live 95.9's morning radio show this morning. In case you missed it, you can learn more about this pretty and loving girl here!

This very sweet lady is Ruby! Ruby is a lovely 8-year-old white and black kitty who has lived indoors only and prefers a home where she will be the only pet. She can start out a bit shy at first, but once she knows you, she's a friendly and outgoing kitty who loves nothing more than attention from her people. Ruby absolutely loves to be brushed and once she's comfortable she'll sit next to you and paw at your leg for attention. If you think Ruby may be a good fit for your household, please fill out a cat adoption application and speak to our feline staff directly. (413)-447-7878 ext. 124
Ruby’s adoption fee has been graciously sponsored by the Danny Boy Adoption Fund for senior pets.

**ADOPTED!!**

Hello, my name is Cardi B. I'm an energetic, fun loving, sweet girl looking for a place to call my own. I love meeting new people, going outside for my daily walks, and will do anything for a game of fetch, especially if it's with a squeaky ball! Those are my favorite! I am a moderate energy kind of gal. I need my daily exercise but once my exercise needs have been met, I'm fine with coming in the house and relaxing on the couch. I unfortunately do not enjoy the company of other dogs but I could potentially live with a dog-savvy cat and kids 8+.
For more information about me or how to begin the adoption process, please contact kennel staff at Berkshire Humane Society - (413) 447-7878 ext. 126

Dogs: No
Cats: Yes
Kids: 8+
Weight: 10lbs

My adoption fee is waived through August 24th for MUTT-CHKINS: a fee-waived adoption event for all dogs over 1-year-old – with an approved adoption application.

*Please note, this post was pre-scheduled. Please check with our kennel staff on her availability.

My name is Jocko, and I've been told I'm one awesome dude! I'm a youngster with energy to spare, so I'll need consistency and boundaries set so that I'll learn to be a well-behaved gentleman. Since I can be a bit mouthy and jumpy, kennel staff here have been working on obedience skills with me and I've been making great progress! I LOVE running and playing in the outdoor pens, but sometimes I like to get "pushy" so to speak, so again, the kennel folks say boundaries Jocko, boundaries. Due to this, I can't live with children because I may inadvertently knock them over. I could however potentially live with a female dog pending a successful meet and greet. I'm very strong while out walking on leash, so I'll definitely benefit from obedience training. (Did you know they offer classes here, right at the shelter?) I'm great about keeping my kennel clean, so with a quick refresher in my new home, I should be good to go on my housebreaking. I do tend to whine and get vocal when left alone, so no apartments or shared walls for me please. If you have the time to provide me to learn all of the good behaviors, I'm capable of, please reach out to the kennel staff for more information and how to learn about potentially adopting me. Meet Camden! This handsome 1-year-old boy was found as a stray, so now he’s hoping for the safety of an indoor-only home. This active youngster is extremely friendly and playful. He’ll need an adopter who is cat-savvy and understands body language. Camden is a love bug, but he’s also prone to being devious. He’ll need a home where he’ll receive extra playtime and enrichment to keep his mind busy! One of his favorite activities is playing hide-and-seek with the staff and volunteers. Camden is not fond of other cats, but is very respectful of dogs. If Camden sounds like the perfect catch for you, please contact the feline staff at Berkshire Humane Society – (413)-447-78787 ext. 124
If you adopt Camden by August 24th, a portion of his adoption fee will be underwritten by Subaru
