Ruff Haus Kennels

Hi. As you know (or maybe you don’t), I’ve expanded Ruff Haus with a full 2,400 sq ft indoor and an additional 2,400 sq ft outdoor doggie daycare area. And true to form (as I’ve done with everything else in my facility), I went above and beyond and spent a huge amount of time and money to make the daycare area out of this world. In addition, I finally hired a website designer and am adding a website - which in 20 years of being in business I have never done. Souly to promote the daycare and the new online booking system that we are now using.

So, now comes the reason for my message - to request from my friends and customers add a review of my services/my facility/or me in general on Google/Facebook and Yelp (copy/past the same review is more than fine). It will help my web designer be able to ‘grab’ those reviews and add them to the website and also to help her with the SEO (back end of website design) part of it.

Over the years many people have asked if I wanted them to leave reviews. I typically say no (b/c I hate asking people to go out of their way to spend their free time doing it) - then comes one disgruntled person (over a snowy driveway or someone mad their dogs not done in the time THEY feel they should be done) and I regret saying ‘no, don’t worry about doing reviews’. So, with that being said, if you can please take the time to add a review to the above mentioned Social Media platforms, I’d very much appreciate it. I know it’s asking a lot to take time out of your busy schedule to add not one, but three reviews on three different platforms - so if you can and have the time to do so, I thank you very much. Doing so helps me build my small business and get us out there to others that may not know we even exist - let alone are offering more options than ever before! Without you and your trust, Ruff Haus would not be what it is today and I am very proud of what we have built and continue to offer on a daily basis.

Thank you for entrusting me and my awesome staff to be part of your pets lives and allowing us to care for them on a regular basis. I would never want to be doing anything else than what I am doing today.

Doggie Daycare is really taking off! We are so thankful for our awesome clients who entrust us with their pets on a daily basis! We are so happy for the awesome group that have all established such great friendships with each other already! Can't wait to keep adding to our group and sending home super tired pups!

One more reason we do not use or recommend the "gentle leader or other harnesses that come across the dogs face.

Here is the vascular system in a canine head. This highlights the enormous amount of blood flow in the dogs nose. This blood flow serves many purposes, fuels the scent chambers, aids in temperature regulation, allows dogs to effectively track, but this also makes the dogs nose incredibly sensitive to touch. This is the main reason you should not use face harnesses. There are plenty of tools designed to communicate with dogs that do not put pressure on one of their most sensitive features. I tried posting this on a “mom’s board and it got removed because they said I was trying to promote my business. AND I got a warning that i will be removed if I do it again. So I’m going try it here and see how it goes 🤣.

I’m a Groomer. I have owned a facility in Pine Bush for 20 years. I have some wonderful girls that work for me and I have someone that is looking to switch from an online grooming course (don’t judge) to more of a hands-on approach. With that being said, I am volunteering my time to train them and give them all of my knowledge, but not at the expense of my clients that are very particular with how their dogs are groomed.

I am looking to train them in the evening, after work hours, for a extremely minimal fee ($25-$35 depending on the size of the dog/length of the coat so that we can at least just pay the bather for her time). It is OK if the dogs are matted, but not extremely matted (because then that is not fair to the groomers-in-training on top of extremely matted dogs also become a safety issue for the dog itself). Keep in mind, I am looking for dogs that need HAIRCUTS, not dogs for baths or baths and de-shedding. The girls already have been with me for years and know how to do that. I’m trying to step them up into the next role of grooming. I don’t know if anyone has a budget that they just really can’t afford the luxury of a full-service salon at this time or if anyone has elderly friends or family that have dogs that need grooming….we would be happy to take the opportunity to groom them at our reduced rate, as long as they understand that the girls that are training are learning. So please feel free to share this post!

I am not trying to promote my business on these “mom boards”. I am trying to TEACH the younger generation a trade, so that they can better their own education, while hopefully helping some families that may not be able to afford a full service grooming salon at this time. So it becomes a win-win for both.
