Just like people, our pets can suffer from allergies too — and they can be incredibly uncomfortable if left untreated. The bottom line of it all is that pet allergies occur when the immune system mistakenly identifies harmless proteins in a pet’s dander, saliva, or urine as dangerous invaders, triggering an overreaction
🐶🐱 **Common Signs of Allergies in Pets:**
• Excessive itching or scratching
• Licking or chewing paws
• Red, irritated skin
• Ear infections or head shaking
• Hair loss or hot spots
• Watery eyes or sneezing
• Scooting or skin odor
• Vomiting, diarrhea or excessive flatulence ( food allergy)
🌿 **What Causes Allergies?**
Pet allergies can come from several different sources, including:
• Environmental allergens (pollen, grass, dust mites, mold)
• Food sensitivities
• Flea allergies
• Household products or fragrances
Many allergies are seasonal, but some pets struggle year-round.

• Prescription allergy medications
• Cytopoint or Apoquel (for dogs)
• Antihistamines (only under veterinary guidance)
