Happy Tails Haven Horse Rescue and Sanctuary We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home equines from a variety of situations. About Us: CoDreLea Farm started out as a horse breeding facility in 1996.

After a few years of this, we came to realize that there were “too many horses”and many were unwanted and in need of homes or in danger of being killed. Later we came to realize the same was true for unwanted dogs and cats. So about 15 years ago, we started privately rescuing dogs, cats and the occasional horse. Many of the horses that remain here are part of the original breeding stock or a fe

w or their offspring. We began to advocate against indiscriminate breeding of horses, and for the spaying and neutering of pets. We have also been advocates for experiential learning with horses and other animals. Klara has been a certified member of EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning) organization in the past. EAGALA is a methology for doing Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. CoDreLea Farm has contracted with mental health professionals to provide this service in the past. Animals, horses in particular, are great teachers utilizing metaphorical learning. In other words, our animals are very good at reflecting back to us what we need to learn. In April 2014, we incorporated Happy Tails Haven as a nonprofit corporation in South Dakota. In December 2014, we attained 501c3 nonprofit status. We now strive to make the lives of animals (horses in particular) better and to foster the animal-human bond.

👑🐴 Congratulations, Shealynn! 🐴👑

Happy Tails Haven wants to take a moment to celebrate and congratulate one of our amazing youth volunteers, Shealynn Gorder, on a successful year as the Junior Miss Newell Labor Day Rodeo! 🤠❤️

Tonight, Shealynn passes her crown to the next young lady who will proudly hold this title, and we couldn’t be more proud of everything she has accomplished during her reign. She has represented herself, her community, and the sport she loves with so much grace, kindness, and dedication. 👑

As one chapter closes, another exciting one begins! We want to wish Shealynn the very best of luck during her upcoming year as the Southwest 4-H Rodeo Junior Queen! We can’t wait to watch all the amazing things she accomplishes in this next adventure. 🐴✨

Well it is that time if year! We will be having our Hay Fundraiser Silent Auction at Kickstands on September 12th! This year we will be sharing the venue, for the first couple of hours, with the Titans Motorcycle group who are concluding a Poker Run there that evening! They are raising money for the Black Hills Children's Society! Please come and support two great causes at one fantastic location! Hey guys! Guys! GUYS!!! IT IS HERE!!! The FARMSTAND is opening this Saturday @ 1000am!! We will have all the stuff and things!! Sourdough bread: Plain, Jalapeno Cheddar, and Italian Parmesan, mini banana loaves, mini banana choc chip loaves, sourdough chocolate chip cookies, cake slices, gourmet flavored butters, and other goodies. Looking for non food goodies: we have them too! Norwegian wash cloths, stationary sets, lip balms, lotion and soap. Come check us out! Watch for our menu coming out tomorrow!
