To sweet Ben—the sweetest soul. Struck by a train as a young pup, he was taken in by a family who saved him, nursed him back to health, and simply couldn’t let him go.

As he grew, they discovered his gentle, caring nature. He became certified—a therapist, a confidant, a silent healer. He always knew. He knew who was hurting, who needed a hug, or who just needed someone to listen. Mom and Dad swear he understood every word they said. I believe it too. He listened with his whole body, his whole heart—and became a certified service dog.

He mentored every foster pup who passed through their home, teaching them to trust again and leading by example with quiet grace and impeccable manners. And he had a border collie girlfriend who adored him just as much as he adored her.

He wasn't just a good dog. He was pure love. You are deeply missed. Run free, sweet boy.

In loving memory of handsome Tito, who joined his family as a young puppy, the only “child,” and was cherished beyond measure. He loved racing across the farm, meeting new friends, and returning home with all sorts of tales to tell his mom. There was the time he got sprayed by a skunk, and other days he’d come home smelling as though he’d been for a swim in the creek. After every adventure, Tito was treated to an in-home spa day to keep him looking dashing—but at the end of it all, he would curl up against his mom, content to be home. We are sure he is dearly missed. Rest easy, sweet boy.

In loving memory of beautiful Gala, who was so named because her black and white fur reminded Dad of a fancy gathering. She never was a barker. In the dog days of her youth, she would run and scamper about her beloved backyard. After breakfast, she would wait for her dad to burp her and then she would enjoy a restful nap. In another life she would have been a clown, as she was great at making everyone laugh and smile. Rest easy, dear girl.

Today we honor the life of a wonderful boy named Brutus. His mom shared these beautiful words about him:

Brutus was love in its strongest form — loyal, protective, and endlessly devoted to his family. For 14 wonderful years, he lived life with joy and purpose, always watching over the ones he loved.

He was our guardian and our comfort. Strong and brave, yet a gentle soul at heart. He lived every day to the fullest — running, eating tons of treats , playing, tugging at ropes, chasing cars like it was the most important job in the world, and roughhousing with his brothers and sister until everyone was happily worn out.

Brutus had a heart that never missed a beat when it came to his people. He knew the sound of our cars and would run straight to the window, barking to let everyone know someone he loved was coming home. No matter the day or time, he always greeted us at the door, reminding us that we were missed and that we belonged.

When the noise and play were done, he was the biggest lap dog, curling up in bed with us, soaking up every moment of closeness. And when someone was sad, Brutus was always there — no words, just presence, warmth, and unconditional love.

He wasn’t just a dog. He was family. A protector. A best friend.
Though his paws no longer greet us at the door, his love will forever live in our hearts and in the home he filled with joy.

Run free, Brutus. Thank you for 14 years of loyalty, love, and unforgettable memories. You will always be loved.

In loving memory of Jules, her human mama wrote this letter to her.

Dear Jules,

You’ve only been gone 30 minutes, and our home feels so empty. Your absence is going to be missed by everyone. I just can’t believe you’re gone. You got extremely sick in one week. We weren’t surprised. Even though we’ve known since October that this is going to happen, we were shocked when it did.

The first day I met you, I fell in love! For the past 15 years, I’ve only adopted seniors who were broken and down on their luck. I felt like since you were an orphan who ended up in animal control, adopted and returned, there had to be a reason. You were 7lbs and 11 years old, and you made your presence known by screaming LOUDLY! You were always underfoot and got stepped on a lot. You integrated into a household that held two medium-sized dogs and a 70 lb big girl and quite honestly, none of us saw you. You were very small and quick. You got plenty of attention.

What I didn’t know when I met you is how broken I was. You came in November 2021. By then I had dealt with a lot of trials and tribulations. You came as a normal, silly fun girl who was always up for the party no matter what time of day. Pure joy radiated from your little body every time I sat on the couch or laid in the bed. Didn’t take much to make you happy. And you in fact came to heal me.

When you get to the Rainbow Bridge and see your other mommy, she’s going to be healthy and whole just like you’re going to be. I only ask that you tell her how well you were treated after she left. I also ask that you never forget me and how much I loved you. Our time was short but so very sweet. RIP sweet Jules. I’ll miss you forever.

Love,
Mommy

As this year comes to a close, my heart is full of gratitude for the trust of my clients and the wonderful support of our referral partners. Thank you for making this year so special.

With my own family growing, I’ve decided to prioritize more moments with them in the new year. To make that possible, we’ll be adjusting our schedule starting in January. Our new hours will be 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday, and we’ll be closing on weekends to enjoy that precious family time.

We will reopen from our holiday break this Friday, January 2.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful holiday season filled with joy. May the new year bring kindness and gentle days to all.

Dixie’s journey began with a tough start. As a puppy, she survived parvo, only to be surrendered to the very vet who saved her. She lived at the clinic for a while before going to another home, but the third time was the charm—that’s when she found her forever family.

They never understood why anyone would have given her away, for Dixie was the sweetest soul. She loved everybody and was finally showered with the love she deserved. She adored eating, playing, and keeping a watchful eye (and bark) on passersby. In another life, she would have made a wonderful teacher for children or sung to hospitalized patients to lift their spirits.

Now, her friends will be waiting to greet her at the door once more; her parents will miss her immensely. Rest easy, sweet girl.

Today we honor the life of wonderful Chance, a dashing white Eskimo poodle. He was a good dog who loved to snuggle and would playfully nip his loved ones. His younger brother looked up to him always. Rest easy, sweet fellow.

Sixteen years ago, a young man, who always thought he was a dog person, met a tiny, eight-week-old kitten. He bundled her up in a soft blue blanket (She still has it btw as pictured) and brought her home, not knowing he was carrying his new best friend.

Her name was Bella, and she didn't just find a home; she claimed their hearts. We're sure she was a mighty CEO in a past life, but for her family, she was pure, purring warmth.

Her dad recalls memories of his time with Bella and the countless hours he would spend at his computer, studying or gaming. She'd always hop up, settle in, and place both her little paws on the desk as if to say, "I'm helping." Like the most attentive little supervisor, following every click and keystroke with devoted interest.

Her family loved her so much. Rest easy, sweet Bella.

Winnie was born in the home of a family member with her brother as a littermate puppy and quickly established herself as the chief of the household. She might give an initial bark, but her true, friendly nature shone through instantly as she made you feel welcome with an abundance of kisses. She loved chasing the bunny in the backyard and spent countless hours chilling by the patio overlooking the pool. While she was undoubtedly the boss of her brother, she had a nurturing side, often grooming and babying him. A sweet mama's girl, she is dearly missed.
