Welcome to the pack, Ulysses (Uly) and Gracie! This fabulous pair of siblings have been doing walking services with Alex and the team and, while being a wonderful pair, both present a very different personality from the other!

Big Bernese Gracie is easy going, a little lazy, and mostly just likes to slowly sniff around the neighborhood. Little Uly is an older pup (at least 14!), and has been losing both his vision and his hearing, making him a bit more (understandably) nervous about the world, but once he gets moving, he loves to keep a groove going and explore!

Uly has bitten a few walkers in the past, but by moving slowly, and reintroducing ourselves to him each time we visit, Uly has actually made friends with multiple members of the team!

We’re tickled to be on Uly’s “approved humans” list, always love Gracies big, mellow energy, and look forward to many more strolls through the neighborhood with these two cuties!

Introducing our newest team member, Calvin (name still subject to change)! Calvin recently joined the team as Roo’s training apprentice, and is learning to help dogs around the city, just like she does! He is about 7 months old, and just keeps growing and growing! We’re thinking he may be a wolfhound (and shepherd?) mix but aren’t totally sure yet, so we’ll see how much he continues to sprout! We’ll take any guesses (or name suggestions) in the comments, but will eventually get around to actually doing a dna test!

Many of our clients have already met Calvin, as he’s been floating around with Alex for a couple weeks now learning the ropes and making friends with all his coworkers!

Calvin is excited to continue to work with and learn from Roo, and to meet you and help you and your dog learn, just like he is!

Introducing Penny! Penny is a young puppy who bops her way through the world, turning heads everywhere she goes! Despite being blind in one eye, and likely having limited vision in the other, Penny is usually a pretty confident girl. She’s great with dogs and with people and loves to socialize and get out in the world, but starts to get nervous when there’s more than one stimulation source, like multiple dogs, especially when it sneaks up on her blind side!

We’ve been working with Penny on general confidence building, attention under pressure, and self soothing skills, as well as teaching her and her mom some management strategies that the can do together to help Penny feel more comfortable as she faces new challenges and learns all the ins and outs of navigating the world!

Penny is an extra adorable addition to our pack and we are thrilled to have the chance to get to know her better!

Catching up on our social media to Introduce our friend, Elliot! Elliot recently finished a six week training set with Alex where we tackled some undesirable behaviors, like jumping and mouthiness, and also taught him some super cool new behaviors!

Elliot is a quick learner and so is his family, and they are such a wonderfully paired combo! So not only did we polish Elliot’s manners up, but we also introduced him to gluten detection, which is both enriching for the dog, and very helpful for gluten sensitive homes!

Meet our good friend, Raina! Raina is sweet, feisty, and loves a good belly rub! She can be a little nervous and reactive on walks, so requires a little more of an experienced handler, but is a joy to walk and hang out with. She uses us primarily for sitting and check ins, and loves when Levi comes to sleep over! Alex even steals some check-ins now and then himself just so he can also enjoy her wonderful company!

We’re thrilled to have Raina in our pack and look forward to many more belly rubs to come!

Time for another long overdue introduction:

Introducing Oliver!

Oliver is an occasionally stoic, often goofy, and always sweet guy who can just get a little overly excited sometimes (don’t we all?). Oliver did some training with Alex, and recently has been doing walks with both Alex and Caroline, both polishing up his leash skills and helping to get all that extra energy out.

We’re thrilled to have Oliver in our pack and look forward to many more opportunities to hang out with, and teach, this adorable and exuberant pup!

After searching the hills of Italy for weeks, Alex’s search for a cloning machine has paid off! He found a cardboard box on the beach in Viareggio labeled “Cloaning Masheen” and climbed inside! Lo and behold, a whole extra dog trainer popped out!

We are so excited to welcome Jake to the team. Jake is a dog trainer (CPDT-KA) who has worked with Alex for years in many capacities, but was most recently running a company in Seattle where he was able to help so many dogs. Where Alex specializes in scared dogs, Jake specializes in scary dogs, which will allow us to help even more dogs by leaning into their respective specialities! Jake and Alex have been training together for a long time, so are also both able to adapt to fit each others styles when needed and can assist each other during sessions with ease. Adding Jake to the team not only will allow us to help even more dogs, but will allow us to provide an even better, more rounded education for our apprentices and crew.

Jake lives in DelCo, and will be offering Training and walking services. He is also here to be a “spare Alex,” able to respond to emergencies and to support the crew (or Alex!) when they may need some extra help from very qualified hands. A few of our clients have already met Jake, as he’s been following Alex around this week getting settled in to how we do things, but many more of you will be meeting him soon, and his schedule will be open for scheduling appointments freely in about a week!

We’re so grateful to have Jake joining our team, to be taking some big steps towards growth and to be able to help even more dogs around Philly!

It’s time for a long overdue introduction for our good friend, Roxy! Roxy is the resident dog at , and she’s a wonderful host to the furry friends that her parents put so much amazing work into finding homes for. She’s a sweet and energetic girl and loves to zoom around her yard! We’ve done some work with Roxy on barrier frustration, and reactivity in her yard, and one of the two Alexes also often also get the chance to check in for a nice walking visit. We always love seeing her!

We’re thrilled to have Roxy in the pack and always love to opportunity to meet and work with some of the many the fosters that come through their doors!

Alex may be away, but the crew is still here to play!

Alex will be traveling from Jan 26th-Feb 11th, searching the world for the secrets of human cloning. And who knows? Maybe there will a big announcement coming upon his return…

Training and new client intake will be paused until he gets back, but while he’s away, the rest of our exceptional crew will be running their regular services (and covering his!), as usual!

We’re excited to introduce a new member of our crew, Caroline! You’ve probably already met them, as Caroline has joined the team full time, and has already been very busy meeting and working with many of our clients! Coming in with no shortage of experience working with reactivity, Caroline always does an amazing job maintaining your dogs training, while also bringing an energy and enthusiasm to their services that will have your dog coming home tired and satisfied!

Caroline is our first client turned crew. Having worked with Alex on their own pup, Nemo, they have a nuanced understanding of, not only how our training works, but also the complicated feelings that can come with having an otherwise amazing dog who’s just got some tougher training hang ups. Caroline will be offering walks, runs, and sitting, as well as helping out Alex as a training assistant, so if you haven’t met them yet, you certainly will soon!

Keeping with our (unintentional) trend of hiring exceptionally talented artists, Caroline is also an amazing singer/songwriter, who you can find both as the soundtrack to this post, and on their page !

We are so excited to have Caroline join our team! In the short time they’ve been working with us, they’ve already proven themself to be an amazing addition to the crew!

Introducing Astro! Astro is a young pup who just gets bigger and bigger every time we see him! Astro is a bundle of joy and energy and is a super sweet and attentive dog. He just needs to polish up some of his manners and leash skills just a bit, especially as he continues to grow!

Since mom also needs some help with regular walks while she’s at work, we figured why not do both at the same time! We’ve been having a blast flip flopping between enrichment and training with this adorable boy, and we’re so excited to help him become the most gentle giant as his continues to learn and grow!
