🎃 Pumpkin patch adventures with a purpose! 🧡

Our adventures to a dog-friendly pumpkin patch in Round Rock were about more than cute fall photos…

Between practicing place and experiencing strollers, kids, loud sounds, and farm animals, our pups had plenty of time to explore, learn, and build confidence in a new environment! 🎃🎃🎃

To us it may be the same ol’ walk, but to our dogs it’s a world full of clues waiting to be discovered! 🕵️

Asha ‘nose’ who was here, which way they went, and how long ago they passed through! 👃🏼

A dog’s nose reveals a world we can’t experience, slow down, let them sniff. 🐾

Athena’s adventures are about so much more than just going for a walk!

She gets the opportunity to explore new environments, take in all the smells, and experience the world through her nose.

Sniffing provides mental enrichment, fulfills natural instincts, builds confidence and helps dogs decompress in new environments.

A good adventure isn’t measured in miles, it’s measured in sniffs! 👃🏼🐾

Waiting for food. Leaving something alone. Pausing at a doorway.

They may seem like little things, but these everyday moments teach dogs a big skill: you don’t need to act on every impulse.

We teach our dogs to pause, think, and make a better choice- even when something they really want is right in front of them!

Structured daycare isn’t just about tiring a dog out. We’re building skills they can take home with them.

Engagement comes before obedience. 👏🏼

Before we expect our dogs to listen around distractions, they need to learn that checking in with us is valuable.

Last week in structured daycare, we worked on name response, voluntary check-ins, hand targeting, following the handler and staying connected around distractions.

Because the goal isn’t a dog who only listens when you’re holding a treat…

It’s a dog who learns that YOU are worth paying attention to. 🐾
